Shedding the Illusions of Purpose

Image
Shedding the Illusions of Purpose https://www.spreaker.com/episode/shedding-the-illusions-of-purpose--71060092 Family, we’ve been lied to about what it means to be "purpose-driven." Everywhere you look, somebody is telling you to grind harder, take on another project, or add a new title to your resume just to figure out why you are here. But what if your Nia (Purpose) isn't buried in the future? What if it's currently suffocating under the weight of everything you're carrying right now? We often think the path to peace and power is about acquisition. But the greatest warriors know that agility comes from dropping the armor that no longer serves you. Are you exhausted because you lack purpose, or are you exhausted because you are living out three different narratives that don't belong to you? We dive deep into this paradox on today's episode. Call to Inaction: "A tree does not grow by holding onto its dead leaves; it grows by letting them fall."...

The Secret Cord of the Seven Sticks

Image
The Secret Cord of the Seven Sticks https://www.spreaker.com/episode/creative-ujima--69948420 The world tells us that "making it" is a solo sport. They want you to believe that your success is yours alone and your failures are a private shame. But what if the key to your next breakthrough isn't hidden in your own effort, but in the creative way you connect with your community? In today's episode, we discuss "Creative Ujima." We look at a classic story involving seven sticks and a powerful realization: collective work is the ultimate protection, but creativity is the cord that holds us together. We’re asking the hard questions today: Are you trying to carry the whole forest on your back, or are you ready to build a bridge? Listen in to discover how to reframe your daily grind into a masterwork of community building. Why do we stop walking when the road gets dark?

Image
https://www.spreaker.com/episode/the-evidence-of-things-not-seen--69861650 Why do we stop walking when the road gets dark? It’s a question we all face. You have the plan, you have the desire, but suddenly the path forward disappears into the fog of uncertainty. Most people freeze. They wait for the sun to come out before they take another step. But the "Imani-born"—those who understand the science of Faith—know a secret about that fog. In today’s episode, we discuss the mechanics of moving forward without physical evidence. We talk about the difference between blind optimism and the structural Faith that builds nations. If you have ever felt your Purpose stalling because you couldn't see the "how," this conversation is the shift you’ve been waiting for. You don't need to see the whole staircase to take the first step. Drop the Qualifier: Reclaiming Our Narrative Without Apology

Image
Drop the Qualifier: Reclaiming Our Narrative Without Apology We are at a pivotal moment in history—a moment of transformation, of collapse, and of rebirth. Like the mythical phoenix, we are being pushed to redefine ourselves, to rise from the ashes of outdated frameworks. A conversation I had recently made me realize something profound: we have been conditioned to qualify ourselves in ways that no other group does. We say Black man , Black woman , Black history , as if our identity needs an extra descriptor to be understood, acknowledged, or validated. But why? When white people talk about their history, they don’t call it white history . They simply call it history. Napoleon is just Napoleon. The Renaissance is just the Renaissance. Yet, when we speak of our existence, our achievements, and our legacies, we feel the need to prefix them with "Black." But this qualifier does more than just distinguish—it subtly suggests that our reality is secondary to some greater, more dom...

Ujamaa Of Rites Of Passage 2

Great Nia I am trying to adjust to my new schedule, and on some parts of it I am victorious but on other parts….. My goal was to switch the time of my show, and do it in the evening so that I could have more time in the morning, but now I am tired and dragging throughout the day. I also wanted to spend time doing Folktales & Proverbs on the Wisdom platform, but that is not working. I also am trying to get familiar with some new software that will help with my blog, it works well but I lost a whole article and had to rebuild it. Thank goodness I backup all my stuff on Gdoc. By the way the tobacco beast has taken a bite and is holding on, so that is also complicating the whole thing. So that is enough of my woes, now it is time to take another dive into the culture. I hope that you are getting some value and inspiration from these discussions. Remember we are not just talking about these things to just talk, we are having these discussions to make changes first with ourselves, ...
