The Locked Door with No Key: Why Ohio’s SB 153 Threatens Our Voting Rights Imagine being told you must enter a building to access your rights—to speak, to be counted, to shape the laws that govern your life. The door is locked, and you're told you need a key. But no one will tell you what kind of key you need. Some folks bring house keys. Others arrive with driver’s licenses, birth certificates, even passports. They jiggle them in the lock—nothing works. They aren’t denied because they’re unqualified. They’re denied because the rules changed without explanation. This is the danger behind Ohio’s Senate Bill 153 (SB 153)—a bill that hasn’t passed yet , but is already knocking on our community’s door. What Is SB 153? SB 153 is a proposed law—not yet passed —currently being considered by Ohio’s state legislature. It would require all voters to prove their citizenship before casting a ballot. That may sound fair on the surface—but the bill doesn’t define what “proof of citizenship” ac...

Wasted Resource

Wasted Resource Introduction The youth of today are dealing with issues that we never dealt with; we are raising a generation of children who are exposed to everything. I say that our community needs to take the leadership role in molding and shaping our youth so they can become productive adults, who understand how to be leaders in their homes, communities, and workplaces. The issue is not “what do they know '' but rather “what do they know how to do” when it comes to being a man or woman. What is “rite of passage” ? It is commonly associated with such milestones as childbirth, puberty, marriage, and death. In a rite of passage, the initiate goes through an ordeal that challenges them physically and mentally, often involving symbolic death and rebirth into a new life. Examples of this include Christian baptism and confirmation; Jewish bar mitzvah; Confucian jinzi (son-...

Peace FAM: Wasted resources are killing our community. Especially resources that we have control over. I am going to hit on some sensitive ideas in this article and the video so I need to warn you advance. I woke up and started thinking about the role of gender in a culture, and asked why were they important. Gender roles were established to help bring order in the culture. Each individual was assigned roles at birth, as well as from the community. These roles helped to advance the society. The interaction between the genders produced the life that enabled the culture to exist as well as the community that adhered to the role. Now in these days and times these roles have been allowed to slip into each other forming whole other groups of individuals. Now where you stand on this is your business, and is not part of my discussion, but it is something that I felt that I need to cover. We as Africans in America, also known as Black folks are in no position to be arguing about these gend...

Black Woman, You Can Never Be As Beautiful As A white woman

I know that some will not even read this post, and I understand. It is hard to be hit by the truth. Some will argue before and may even throw insults, and  I understand that as well. For those that will take the time to read what I am trying to say I thank you in advance. This idea was spawned as I was going threw Aesop fables. Aesop dropped some powerful wisdom for those with "Ears to hear, and eyes to see". Aesop had quite a few fables about animals that had an identity crisis. A powerful example of this is the story entitled "The Raven and the Swan" (check out the story on my YouTube Channel, and push that Subscribe as well). I believe that most people do not know where or when they are. Let me explain, Black Women we are in the heart of a western imperialistic system. At this point and time we are at the height of this systems power. The idea that keeps this system in motion are and were generated in the minds of white men, and given birth out of the womb ...
