The Locked Door with No Key: Why Ohio’s SB 153 Threatens Our Voting Rights Imagine being told you must enter a building to access your rights—to speak, to be counted, to shape the laws that govern your life. The door is locked, and you're told you need a key. But no one will tell you what kind of key you need. Some folks bring house keys. Others arrive with driver’s licenses, birth certificates, even passports. They jiggle them in the lock—nothing works. They aren’t denied because they’re unqualified. Adaptable

Not because of strength/
Nor by our intelligence/
Do we still survive/

The human being has thrived on this planet for thousand of years because we have the ability to adapt to our environment. We thrive because we are able to pull on our kuumba (creativity), and constantly improve our situation. Those of us that are on the journey know this well. Sometimes it feels as if we have been thrust in the bowls of hell, but by the time we get done we turn what the world views as bad into a paradise. This is because we know how to pull on the power of adaptability. We put ourselves into situations where we are forced to pull on our creativity to survive.
It is precisely because we put ourselves in these situations that we can transform what others view as bad situations into stepping stones to greatness. We back ourselves in a corner and push out the miraculous solutions. This requires the traveler to have faith in the most powerful thing s/he has themselves.
So put yourselves in situations where you have to adapt, and eventually overcome.
