The Art of Adaptation: Unveiling the Wisdom of The Bat and The Weasels “It is wise to turn circumstances to good account.” — Aesop In the world of fables, we often find animals acting out the deepest parts of our humanity. These creatures, symbols of instinct and survival, carry lessons older than time itself. The Bat and The Weasels , retold from the mind of Aesop and reimagined through the lens of Gye-Nyame Journey, isn’t just a tale for children—it’s a guide for those grown folks who still seek mastery. When the World Has You Cornered Here’s the setup: A bat falls to the ground and is caught by a weasel. The weasel hates birds. So the bat, slick with the tongue, says, “I’m not a bird—I’m a mouse.” The weasel lets him go. Later, the same bat falls again. This time, a different weasel catches him. But this weasel hates mice.  Let's talk about the #NguzoSabaChallenge

Introduction

What are you doing to make this year your best yet? Are you taking time for self-care? Are you setting goals and creating action plans for those goals? Do you have a plan for maintaining your overall wellbeing in mind, body, and spirit? If not, I suggest that you give the #NguzoSabaChallenge a try.

What's a daily log and how can you start a habit with it?

A daily log is a tool that can help you develop and maintain a habit. It's not just about tracking your progress (though it does that), but also about reflecting on your progress. A daily log helps you see how far you've come and allows for celebration of those milestones, which will motivate you to keep going.

As you begin tracking your habits, take note of the following:

  • What is the first step in starting this habit? Is there something specific I need to do before or after this?

  • How many times per day am I trying to practice my new habit? Is this too much or too little? Should I increase/decrease this amount in order to make sure my new routine becomes healthy and sustainable?

Creating a daily log

Once you've created your daily log, you can use it to track your progress, habits, goals and mood. You might think that you don't have time to create this type of journal or log. However, we have already created one and made it available to you! The #NguzoSabaChallenge SelfMastery Journal will allow you to keep a daily log of every habit or goal you have. It helps with accountability so you don't waste time trying to reinvent the wheel.
