Conservatism, Reaction, and the Elder's Responsibility: A Message to My Age Grade

Image
Conservatism, Reaction, and the Elder's Responsibility: A Message to My Age Grade Great Day, Fam. This one right here? It’s not for everyone. If you’re not at or approaching Eldership—defined in our tribe as about 55 years old and up—you might not feel all of this. But if you’re curious, or if you’re one of those younger souls already walking with wisdom, you’re welcome to keep reading. This message is for the Elders. For those of us who should know better. And yes—I’m including myself. Let’s Start With the Mirror I’ve got to confess something. I’ve been guilty. Guilty of being reactionary. Guilty of falling into the trap of conservatism. Guilty of romanticizing the past. Guilty of looking at our young people and calling them “soft”—as if we were born warriors, as if we didn’t have to become who we are through fire, failure, and guidance. Many of us Elders are stuck in a loop. We remember only the highlights of our youth—the toughest times we survived, the boldest moments ...

How to miss your purpose (7 reasons why you should) sample

Image
Today I am writing about the need to miss your purpose. I believe that having the ability to disappear and do something else for a little while can give you space to grow. Sometimes we can get so involved in our purpose that we begin to lose the vision, and in these times we need to take a break. Leave the work and go on vacation. Allow for the universe to work it's magic on us while we are gone. There is nothing wrong with doing something like traveling to give yourself space to grow. The problem with staying busy all of the time is that we never give ourselves time to think about our purpose or our passions, or even what we want out of life. It's important that as humans we are not limited by our pasts and our experiences but also by our futures and what is yet to come. To get it all you have to join the email list.... Follow

Tha Sample "The Kuumba Concept: Creating A Culture"

Image
The Kuumba concept is rooted in the idea that we are all artists, I dare say creators; our collective consciousness is a canvas on which we paint with our thoughts and emotions. We live in a culture that does not encourage us to express ourselves freely. If you don't fit into the mold, if you don't do what you're "supposed to," if you don't think exactly how others want you to think, then you are ostracized. This understanding, that we are all artists, creators and that art is everywhere, may be a source of freedom. In Kuumba , we are truly free to express all our emotions, to celebrate the beauty of life from birth to death. Freedom is the bridge between what exists and what could be. When given freedom and space, our imagination can thrive and with this strength we can face challenges head on. We must take responsibility for who we are and where we are going. So before you spend $15 on another book, instead try some freestyling; paint your canvas with whatev...

It has been hard adjusting to this new schedule, but I will do it. I am trying to build my stamina for all the things I have to pursue over the next few months, but still remain on course. With my birthday passing I have enter a new phase in my life and I want to get this year right because it will be the catapult that sends me into the things that I have slowly been building on.  In this blog I am thinking about order, purpose, and the concept of Nationbuilding. I am going to go deeper with this in some future videos, so stay tuned:
