The Right Of Descension Introduction The right of descension is something that we don't talk about much these days. It is a principle from our past when we were tribes who had no clear boundaries or territories. If a group wanted to leave their tribe, they would have to get permission from the tribal council, and then there was another requirement: at least 30 members of the tribe willing to go with them. This ensured that there was strength in numbers with this new tribe as they set up camp somewhere else in their vicinity, away from the main group. In times gone by, this was necessary because it ensured survival of all members of the tribe by allowing them to split off into smaller groups if needed! But now things have changed drastically due to environmental factors and political upheavals elsewhere in our world—our planet has become less hospitable than ever before for most forms of life on it including humans! We must adapt quickly or perish together as one species; splitting

Purpose & Ujima

Purpose & Ujima Great Ujima: First I want to apologize for the total mess up with the “Daily Toast”. I already shared that the sound was messed up for this week, but I found out that I posted it at 6:45am rather than 5:45am. Now I have to go back and listen to my commercial to check what time I stated was show time. I go through phases where I totally forget show times, and a bunch of other stuff, just ride the wave for this week and we will be back to normal next week. It’s crazy to think that I had a big accident during the week of purpose, but all things work together to bring balance. Enough of that!  Let's get to our discussion. Well we have made it to the magnificent principle of Ujima, and we are in the week of Nia, so let’s pull these super beings together and see what they can do. “Ujima is a principle most people don’t know about because it’s a collective action that involves building community, but not in the way you think. Find out about it here!” We know that Uji

Nia- The Illusion of Disunity

Image
So today I want to focus on these trouble makers who keep us divided. Let's call them the illusionists because they are magicians of sorts. They are skilled at getting us to believe that we are separate and not united. They are masters at getting us to see and even create the differences between us and others. They know that if we see ourselves as different from each other then we will not come together as one. Now there are different types of illusionists, but for now I want to focus on the ones that come from within. These are the illusionists that in most cases we can recognize once we know what to look for. These people have a need to have drama in their lives and in our lives, so they try to create it when there is none. They do this by manipulating information and distorting reality, sometimes they do this to intentionally hurt someone or a group of people, but most of the time they do it because they don't know any other way to live. See these illusionists have been taug

Umoja in Motion (Sample)

Image
Ujima is nothing but our Umoja in motion. What I mean is that everything that the definition of Umoja calls for is used in motion and in action through the principle of Ujima. The first part of this principle calls for us to build and maintain our community together and to make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems, and to solve them together. We have an obligation to each other if we are going to be successful in life, because no one person has all the answers, no one person knows how to solve all the problems. The second part of this principle calls for us to remember our past, so we don't repeat it. We should know that there were others before us who had a lot of good ideas about how to solve different kinds of problems. We can learn from their mistakes, too — so that we don't have to repeat them. That's what history means. Now we need to gather the lessons recognize what we have and move into the future boldly. We can no longer be held back by the ill

A Look At Our Current Reality - Reaching Umoja

Image
Unity is important, because it helps us to see that we can be like the branches of a tree — each with our own unique size, shape and position. But when we come together as one strong trunk, great things happen! We can help others in so many ways. Think about all the times you have been helped by someone else — a parent or older sister; perhaps a teacher at school — maybe even someone you don’t know! Now think about the times when you have helped others — when you have encouraged your little brother to persevere through his homework; or maybe when you took care of stray dogs in your neighborhood. Lastly, think about how helping other people makes you feel inside. It’s good for them and it’s good for us too! You may not realize it but helping others is part of Unity. By doing this we make each other stronger. We lift each other up, and Life becomes easier for everyone concerned. And when we live Life this way then everything works better: families get on better; communities work better t

Tribe Talk 1

Image
This is an episode of Tribe Talk that we use at GNJMedia to talk about current events as we focus on our culture and principles. We focus on the positives and negatives that are happening in the world today, sometimes with humor and other times with a serious tone. Today we are doing a converstaion about relationships, intergration, as well as give a tutorial on using Canva. I believe that we will do more shows like these where I can teach a basic skill using the programs that I use to create my show. Follow us on telegram to get more: https://t.me/GNJTribe

Tribal Calling (sample)

Image
We've all heard people speak about their personal calling, the vocation that has screamed out into the world at them. But tonight I want to spend some time looking into your tribe's vocation. What has your group been called to bring and share with the world? I believe that this is a great topic for Ujima. We are in a time of great turmoil, but also of great potential change. We are witnessing an explosion in technological advancement and scientific discovery, but we're also seeing a rise in violent nationalism and extreme political tribalism. The question of who gets to control the technology and knowledge being created is wide open, but what does seem evident is that the current systems of power have no intention of giving up that control anytime soon. There's only one way for us to take back control over our shared future: WE NEED TO ORGANIZE AND ACT AS TRIBES! Learn more at>>>> Follow

Why should you build a tribe instead of a job?

Image
A tribe is a group of people who have similar beliefs and similar interests. These groups of people are often led by someone and the leader's job is to help the group reach their goals. Now, before you start thinking this sounds a lot like a job, let me tell you that it isn't. A tribe is not something that you can lose one day because your boss decided they wanted to replace you. A tribe is something that you build and nurture with time so that it never dies out even if you are no longer there to lead them. It's something that grows organically with time and eventually becomes self-sustaining without any leadership whatsoever. And why would you want to build a tribe instead of working for yourself or at a job? The answer is simple: security. I'm sure many of you have experienced what it feels like to get laid off from your job or how it feels when a company decides to close down. When this happens, your whole life comes crashing down around you because suddenly all tho

Friday night Tribal Talk  (Hookah, tea, coffe, and good conversation) Why do we believe/ That people have to be on/ The same page as us/ Why do some people believe that in order for us to work together we have to be on the same page. why is this necessary? I have found that when people stress that we must be on the same page to work or even conversate what they are really telling me is that i have to think like them. This is a very limited way to see the Universe. Actually what you are dealing is in the uverse, and have cut everyone else off because you are stuck on your page. Why do we have to be on the same page? Can't we be reading the same book (speaking of books dont forget to support the Journey by purchasing some books...hahahahaa), or even be reading the in the same subject. Lets open up our dialogs so that we can allow growth. Stop trying to change others, and work on your growth. Different perspectives are good, new ideas are good, and can promote your and others grow

Elder seeking answers- Part II

Image
Image via Wikipedia Recieving visions/ from dedicated mission/ teaching by doing/ After years of dedication to her tasked. the Elder received a visit from the Spirit realm . her Ancestors through the power of the Creator came to her while asleep. Her deceased grandmother took the lead role because she would recognize her. Our Elder was amazed at the Axe' of this being it flowed around her and through her grandmother. It Shined so bright that the Elder had to cover her eyes. The ancestor then announced to the Elder that she was there to answer her question and show her the key to righting things in the world again. the Ancestor embraced the elder and took her first to see what the ancestor called a community in hell.  When they arrived the place was in total disaray. trash littered the area, nothing appeared to be taking care of. The community of adults and children sat at a gigantic round table and you could hear the arguing, and disrespect taking place. Youth did not
