The Cowardice of Isolation: Why Your Safe Space is Actually a Grave

Image
Checkout Episode Let’s stop lying to ourselves under the guise of "protecting our peace." When life hits the fan, our default modern programming tells us to retreat. We pull back, block numbers, go silent on the group chat, and build walls. We call it boundary-setting. The Ancestors call it what it actually is: fear. In today’s episode of Tha Daily Spark , we are unpacking the sacred principle of Umoja (Unity) through the lens of a devastatingly sharp Nigerian proverb: "In the moment of crisis, the wise build bridges and the foolish build dams." Think about a dam. It’s an expensive, heavy monument built for one reason—fear. It’s designed to hoard, to block, and to keep the water from moving. But what happens to water that stays trapped? It goes stagnant. It breeds disease. It chokes out life. When you isolate yourself from your Tribe because you are Mad, Sad, or Scared, you aren’t protecting your energy; you are building a psychological dam. You are trapping your n...

"Your Lever Is Long Enough"

Image
I know that this sounds strange but the idea came to me as I was doing research and found a Greek philosopher by the name of Archimedes. Archimedes was quoted to have said "give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world". In this modern time a lever and a fulcrum big enough to move the world has been presented to us all. The lever I'm speaking of is the internet. We can seek out information that just 10 years ago would have belong to a rare few, and use it on a daily basis to bring success, peace, and happiness into our lives if we choose to. The fulcrum in this idea is the devices that have been developed to experience the internet....

Positive thinking/ Is only a small part in/ Building a great life/ Talk Nerdy To Me by Cara Santa Maria Click the link above to check out video that inspired this blog: There was a recent study that shows that positive thinking can actually be harmful to people using it. This video focused on the movie "The Secret" as well as self help gurus like Tony Robbins, and Eckart Tolle. The study states that positive thinking basically does not work, and is a form of avoiding the truth. This can be very harmful according to the study especially to people with terminal illnesses. Now I am a big supporter of science, but I will share my concerns. The issue is not that positive thinking does not work. The problem is that the scientist only studied positive thinking which is only a part of the process. Although the Secret movie stressed positive thinking, they also spoke about other steps necessary to make the process work. Now I will admit that the Secret movie als...
