KET.N: “Our Thang,” Our Tribe, Our Responsibility

Image
KET.N: “Our Thang,” Our Tribe, Our Responsibility Great day, Great day, my people! It’s your brother ha2tim, and today I’m bringing you a special reflection—one that digs deep into who we are, what we build, and why we must build together. This article centers around a powerful concept: KET.N , a Kemetic term gifted to our tribe by Brother Kwame Keuchler . KET.N , simply put, means “Our Thang.” Not just something we claim—but something we commit to. Something we shape and something that shapes us. The idea came alive during a conversation about gangster movies—yeah, I love those. One phrase always stood out: “This thing of ours.” And that got me thinking... Because we need that same spirit when it comes to Gye-Nyame. When it comes to Simsa. When it comes to our culture, our children, and our future. We need our own KET.N. KET.N: It Belongs to Us. We Belong to It. KET.N isn’t just a word—it’s a sacred commitment. Our Thang represents a bond with something greater than any individua...

Unity Ain’t Just a Word: Practicing What We Pledge

Image
Unity Ain’t Just a Word: Practicing What We Pledge Today, I found myself musing on the principle of Umoja , or Unity . I went through my morning meditation and workout, but something was missing — I forgot to recite the Gye-Nyame Pledge . That may not seem like a big deal to some, but it made me pause and reflect. Why do we pledge? Why do we say these words each day? The Power of a Daily Pledge A pledge is more than recitation — it’s a daily reminder of who you are, what you stand for, and what you’re building. Whether you're building a business, raising a family, strengthening a tribe, or transforming a community — Unity is required . Umoja is not passive. It’s not a cool word to post. It’s not just a hashtag. It’s a practice . Or maybe the better word is praxis — not just belief, but action . Daily. Deliberate. Intentional. Practice Over Perfection A pledge helps ground that action. It reminds us not just of where we’re going — but who we must become to get ther...

From Victory to Momentum: My Next 21-Day Challenge

Image
Peace, Tribe! I just came out of a 21-day fast , and let me tell you—I’m on a high! My mind is clear, my body feels lighter, and my spirit is in alignment. I’m celebrating this victory because it’s a big deal. Discipline is no small feat, and when you walk through the fire and come out stronger, you need to recognize it. But here’s the thing—this high isn’t something I want to come down from. So, I’m stepping right into my next 21-day challenge . Why? Because momentum is a gift, and when the energy is flowing, you don’t stop—you build. This next challenge is about keeping that clarity, pushing myself further, and re-dedicating to the principles that keep me grounded in the Gye-Nyame Journey . This ain’t just about me, though. I’m sharing this because I want you to walk with me. Let’s grow together. Let’s elevate. Let me break it down for you. 21 Days of Re-Commitment These next 21 days are about getting back to the practices that define who we are as a tribe. Gye-Nyame isn’t just somet...

Gye-Nyame Pledge

Image
Image via Wikipedia I am swamped these days and don't have a lot of time so I have to keep sending you to my archives. Here is the Gye-Nyame Pledge with corrections. Gye-Nyame Pledge   I am a Gye-Nyame wo/man I was born for greatness. My greatness comes from my potent center. I pledge to find and connect with my center. I pledge to build my spirit, mind and body. I pledge to use my hands to build a better world, for myself, my loved ones, and my community. I pledge to use my mind to think deeper, further, & higher to create a better reality for myself. I pledge to live my life and go beyond all of my self imposed limitations. I pledge to promote the principles of a Gye-Nyame Warrior & to assist all of those who are seeking the path of success. I pledge all of these things first to myself, my teachers, to all of my relations and to my Higher power. Axe! Axe! Axe!
