Society tends to overvalue the importance of technical knowledge and underemphasize creativity, while diluting, deemphasizing, or ignoring value in all things artistic and basic learning processes that are not directly associated with career goals. People often mistakenly believe that creativity is restricted to the visual arts, music, dance, drama and other forms of art applied with talent. Creativity is also expressed by individuals who break new ground in science; create new ways of thinking about politics; invent gadgets or new technologies; or produce new forms of business models or social relations.
