De-Program the Matrix: Reclaiming the Ancestral Pen on Kujichagulia

Let’s stop playing nice and confront a hard truth: Most of you are out here living a life you didn’t write. You’re waking up every day, punching the clock, reacting to the madness on your feed, and executing a sequence of commands that someone else programmed into you. You think you’re free because you get to choose your outfit, but if your mindset is trapped in blame, shame, and fear, you are nothing more than a glitchy piece of software running on an oppressive system's server.

Yesterday evening, I came home after picking up my daughter Gina from practice. I was exhausted, trying to wind down early for the morning show. As I sat down, I accidentally sat on the remote control and changed the channel on my wife. A movie popped up. I didn’t know the title, and honestly, it didn’t matter. Within two minutes, I recognized the formula. I knew exactly how the story was going to end.

But guess what? I stayed and watched anyway.

That’s the magic—and the danger—of stories. They hook us. They wrap around our minds and dictate how we see the world. And right now, our community is hooked on a narrative we didn't write. We’ve been conditioned to sit back and watch a global script that worships white narcissism, treats trillionaires as heroes, and leaves us feeling angry, helpless, and scared for our children’s future.

Today is Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), right in the middle of the cycle of Ujima (Collective Work). It’s time to expand our definition of self-determination. It’s not just about naming yourself; it’s about programming your own reality.

"When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion."

This ancestral proverb is the blueprint. Individually, we might feel small, like isolated threads blowing in the wind. But when we combine our focus, align our energy, and rewrite our individual scripts to serve the collective, we possess the power to bind the fiercest beast.

We need to shift the hero narrative. The savior isn't coming from Silicon Valley or Wall Street. The hero of this story has to be you, me, and our children. True heroism isn't about hoarding wealth; it’s about being a protector of value and sharing wealth to uplift the tribe.

Stop running old, toxic code. Delete the software of victimhood. Pick up the pen, take command of your narrative, and let’s change the global script together. Move out of the fear, step into your power, and claim your joy.
