We are exhausting ourselves trying to "build" unity in our community. Every day, it’s a new debate, a new panel, a new argument about how brothers and sisters need to come together. But what if we are working backward?

What if unity isn’t a house we have to build, but a diamond we have to unearth?

Today is an Umoja day, and we are talking about the power of subtraction. We have swallowed a lot of false narratives about who we are and who we are supposed to be. We’ve layered ourselves in armor—ego, pride, resentment, and the desperate need to prove ourselves to a world that doesn't love us. But all that armor is heavy, and it’s keeping you from feeling the heartbeat of the person standing right next to you. In today’s episode, we explore what happens when we stop trying to add to our plates and start scraping off the toxic buildup instead.

Call to Inaction:

“A hand clenched around yesterday's anger cannot embrace today's brother.”

Stop fighting to be right. Stop feeding the algorithms that thrive on our division.
