Do You Want the Warmth but Hate the Work?

Image
https://www.spreaker.com/episode/love-the-gatherer--69645952 We all want the warmth of the fire. We want the goods, the services, and the convenience. But how do we treat the person who went out into the cold to get the wood? Today is Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), and we are having a hard conversation about how we treat the "gatherers" in our community. In this episode, I break down a powerful Ugandan proverb that forces us to look in the mirror. Are we consumers who complain, or are we community members who support? We explore why separating the product from the person is destroying our economic base, and how to fix it. You can't have the fire without the gatherer. Listen to the full breakdown here. Gye-Nyame Steaming Journey

Image
This a lunch I put together in my steamer. Actually it took me longer to post this, than it did to make the meal. It is simply some fresh eggplant, zuccini (which was given to me by a parent, grown in her garden) onion, garlic, radish, bell peper, and carrot. Later I will add a little spicey tomatoe sauce, and eat in less than 20 minutes. Try it out or share some of your steamed meals for me to try.

Gye-Nyame Steaming Journey III

Here is another meal I put together in my steaming journey. I am looking for meals that are healthy and good for me as I begin to move back to my warrior weight. Today we have a green bean mix. I simply mixed some fresh green beans, some of my left over great northern beans, onion, garlic, and bell pepper . Steamed over a bed of salmon. I used some cinnamon, a little  turbinado sugar , salt, black pepper , and a little to much  cayenne pepper to season it. I also squeezed some fresh orange juice over it as well. After completing steaming. (30 minutes) I put it over a bed of rice (did not steam rice only have one steamer here), and now I am about to eat. So far the only effects have notice from the steam food is a slight itchy feeling in my skin, I will do some research but I figure this is my body adjusting to the food. I will keep you informed about any other changes that I experience from my new diet changes. Nuff said Peace & 1hunidyears l...
