Salute to Robert Johnson

Image
Sold soul at crosroads/ they say because his music/ was beyond this world/ This the centinial for Robert Johnson a blues man that became legendary after he died. Im am sharing this information because on the Journey we are tasked to find examples of mastery. If you take a little time to listen to him you will understand what I mean. This man sparked a whole generation of blues men and inpired another generation of rock and rollers with his style of strumming the guitar, lyrics, and most importantly his story. Robert Johnson died young and the legend of his life still lives to this day. It was said that he recieved his gift of nusic from the crossroads where he sold his soul to the devil. His music echoes this theme with songs like "hell hounds on my tail, crossroads blues, and etc.. His music was full of imges that can be taken as occult, and mystic. Now for those that study history and myth understand the signifcance of the crossroads, and we also know that it was not th

Fwd: Leonard Peltier Tribute to Geronimo Ji Jaga

Image
Here is a letter shared with me by one of my elders, and now I share it with you. Leonard Peltier Remembers Geronimo Pratt 15 June 2011 Greetings to all my friends and compatriots, Everyone it seems knows something about Geronimo Pratt. To all of us, to every human being on the planet, he was a beacon of principle that we should all aspire to emulate. To those directly involved in the struggle, he was one of those gifted, tough as nails warriors who not only had the vision to know what was right, but the strength and courage to stick to his convictions no matter the cost. When he had to be, he was a terror to his enemies. To me, he was a friend and an ally. I met him in jail of course, so many years ago. He always had so much of my respect. He gave his all to the fight for liberation, justice, and equality. His effectiveness as a man and a leader can be measured by the extent to which the enemies of justice and equality went to in order to try and silence him. It wa

Momentary flash/                                   Of insight into all things/                                         Don't try to grasp it/ Sitting in a airport having flashes of a future time where I will be spending time traveling around the world doing SelfMastery™ trainings, and personal coaching sessions. I saw a video in the hotel last not stumbling around the Internet. I needed to do a lot of work but I was not in a state to work, and I decided to look for some new information on the net. I had some ideas to blog about from the National Charter School Conference I was attending, plus I had some work I needed to complete before the end of the month. I simply decided to go to sleep. When I woke up I still did not feel like touching the keyboard, but thoughts began to poke me. Taking pen to paper I allowed the Ha2ku above to flow out and now here we are. Those moments, those fleeting moments where everything seems to make sense. They hit and seem to be gone in a

New book I'm writing/               called "The Love that Hate produced"/                                                                                         a tale of victory/ I sat down and started writing a story of a fictional person that over came the hate of the world, and transformed the hate sent at him to love and joy. Leading him or her to victory. Then the thought hit I didn't have to write this story because many of us on this journey live this tale. So I decided rather than write a story that my readers know so well use the motivation in the SelfMastery™ Training I was doing this Sunday. As usual it fit perfectly. Because the focus today was about developing the Narrative (story) of our lives using 7 tools. Today was a review of previous information and going deeper into the discussion about the use of the seven tools. Of course we were able to explore some side roads on today's journey. We first began with Gye-Nyame SelfMastery™ form

Journey on a budget

Image
With cost rising and incomes shrinking. I found it necessary to discuss how to do the Journey without braking our pockets. So someone from Gye-Nyame will be checking in periodically giving some tips on how to make the journey through life, different cities, and countries affordable. So today I want to share an outfit that was put together for me on a budget. I recently have been introduced to thrifting. Just in time for the traveling part of my Journey begins again. Now before we get into what was put together lets lay down some ground rules for Gye-Nyame Journey: Feel free to share your ideas and savings, but dont drop names of brands on blog. so check out this outfit that was put together for $16. Now the little change that I saved on purchasing clothes i was able to put it on the trip. I am in the ATL learning and prepare my mind for the new turn that my Journey is bringing. Looking good of course. Brother Ha2tim SelfMasteryCoach Nation Builder HipHop Philosopha

I was shuting the enrollment down but I will extend it for another session. Some people came late this class and I want to take away all excuses when I finally shut it down. Once again we had to review to bring the new up to speed and that is cool, because something new always comes out. While in the midst of this session a powerful idea that I covered in more detail came to me afterward. We once again was talking about what the Self was and I gave the Gye-Nyame SelfMastery™ definition of Self (the absolute, complete and perfect qualities of a being that is not determined or defined by external circumstances) and the question about what the Self was composed of moved through me. Immediately the idea of axe'  came to mind. In class we have discussed the import

Breathing

Breath is important/                                if you are not breathing right/   your brain is not tight/ I was sitting in a class about neuroscience and learning. I am currently at a conference in Atlanta (which by the way has about 50 streets named peach tree, what's up with that), and my first workshop taught and reminded me about how not just children learn, but some important keys for all of us. *First our brains can produce new brain cells, and this process can be initiated by exercise. *The brain is malleable which means that no matter how old you are you can still change the brain through learning. * The brain needs a brake (and automatically shuts down after 10 minutes) to process and assimilate new information. *The brain processes a lot of information while we are sleep or relaxed. *For those of you that are depressed it has been found that 30 minutes of exercise is equal to taking a prozac * For those that are hyper active or have hyper active kids, 1

Gye-Nyame Magic

Image
Magic is the art/ Of using wisdom in life/ Not slight of hand tricks/ I am constantly thinking of concepts and looking at them in different ways. I look at what is presented to me from as many angles as I can. My goal is to develop ideas that can help me move closer to SelfMastery™. The concept of magic is one of the topics that constantly draw my attention. We have been shown and taught that magic is a super secret art reserved for the very few, or its a matter of the hand being faster than the eye. I have to step back and think about what magic really is. When I look at the word magic, I cant help but to brake it down and by braking it down i get a deeper look and new understanding of this art. When we look at the word magic, if we step back a little, another word pops out from the beginning of the word that sheds some light on this subject: Magi- priest, wo/men of wisdom. Could it be that magic is nothing but applied knowledge, or better yet a magician could mean a wise per

Awake or Dreaming

Image
Awake or Dreaming Sometimes it is hard to tell When looking for, Why Why? Why? Why? This question popped up in my dreams. Why do I write, about this Journey? Simply I have no choice. My mind begins racing and I have to find a pen or a keyboard. My thoughts will not let me sleep. This morning the question of why, kept ringing for me. So here is the why behind the Journey. I believe there is a need for a word of encouragement on the web. That can stick to our mind and soul, rather we being stuck in a web of empty chater and complaints. The Journey came about as a personal need. It is my pulpit, my office, my property, that I can have gathering minds come to a feast of thoughts and ideas. A place where I can share ideas as well hear others views on those ideas. I created the Journey for you to put your poetry, songs, hypothosis, pics and etc.. Make sure you use it. For me personally writting is a meditation. It is a challenge to over come my fears of others viewing my writing, my int

The reason I'm doing this today is that I have a group of Warriors who have been working with these proverbs using the "Gye-Nyame SelfMastery™" model, for over 3 months.  Now its time for them to continue their personal Journey, and I am asking them to leave some of their Wisdom so that I can share it with the world. SelfMastery Training - Session 2

Image
For those that could not make it to the training this week, I will briefly share some of the information shared during the session. Read and keep up just in case you decide to drop in one of these sundays. During the second session we had to review information from last week. We started with meditation as we will continue to do throughout this training. We spoke about the Self and personality. We spoke about the power and importance of axe' and how it is related to the breath, and the importance that meditation plays in building up this power. We were able to make it through 2 of the tools from the "Player's Pyramid", and we will continue working through the next 5 (check out the Player's Pyramid). We were not able to get into the lost art but will jump into it next week.

Set yourself on fire

Image
Image via Wikipedia Set self on fire / and crowd will gather, spark jumps/ now others aflame? when we jump into what we are doing totally with out holding back we literally set ourselves on fire. fire has always attracted others. People will gather around to watch you burn, and in watching you the flame that is what you do will inspire others to also to follow their passion there by setting themselves a flame. When people watch others burning with passion the sparks from that one spreads to those who are ready to burn themselves. this is how revolution or change is sparked. A actual example of this just happened in 2011 when an individual that was so tired of this life and the injustice of the society that he lived in got tired and literally set himself a blaze. The sparks of what he did and the reason why he did it jumped through the people who seen it and those who heard about it. His solitary act caused sparks to fly, and hit the dry wood of the souls in the middle east, and now

smiling and meditation

Meditate and smile/ Allow thoughts and concerns to / float and then vanish/ Meditation is an important part of SelfMastery, it allows us to ground ourselves in the present moment. Mastery is not a result of dealing in then past nor is it a product of fretting about the future. it is a gift from being truly present. All those that are involved in the SelfMastery training course as well as those serious members of Gye-Nyame are tasked with meditating at least one time per day. Especially during this training. To meditate is simple although there are many styles that a person can follow. the method that we we will focus on during the training is about monitoring the breath. In our first session we went over the proper way to breath, and in session 2 we will take it one step further. When breathing for the method of meditation that we will use during the 8 week course, we pull the air in through the nose down to our abdomen, and allow the abdomen to swell like a balloon. this allow
