Kuumba

Image via Wikipedia Kuumba teaches/ I create therefore I am/ lets recreate world/ Principle- Kuumba Color- Orange Element- Earth Number - 6 Day - Saturday This principle speaks of our very nature. We were created to create. We are here to create. The only question, "what is blocking your creativity?" If Kuumba is in us then why do we refuse to unleash this power on the world? I see a lot of products being produced, I see clever wrapping, I hear some what impressive music, but it is not creative. A majority of what I see in the world today is a variation of a variation of a creative idea from years ago. Kuumba!!! Where have you gone? Come back into my life and the world. Help us create our freedom and prosperity rather than begging to recieive it from the uncreative powers that be.  To create, to practice Kuumba is one of the highest forms of Worship. When we create we pull on that divine spark within ourselves. By pulling on that diviness in us we show our apprec

It appears that many of us live our life on accident, we zoom through life on auto pilot following  regular patterns that make us comfortable, but it is this very patterns that may be holding us hostage. during this day of Kwanzaa we get to re-evaluate our life and the reason for existence, and refocus our efforts to accomplish what we chose to come to this planet to fulfill. Part of Nia is taking responsibility for your existence and stop allowing the random events of your life to hold you off your path. When we embrace our Nia, and begin to focus on

Ujamaa teaches about cooperative economics but the challenge is to look beyond the outer and move inward. Their is no way we can can talk about managing anything if we have taken the time to learn to mange our inner world. Just for a few moments today I challenge you think about what products you create in your life, how you distribute them to your self and to others. Are the products (thoughts, emotions, imaginations and etc.) are they good or bad for you. Are your products good for those around you.Cooperative economics is not just about gathering and combining the resources

It is through communication that we are able to marshal our internal as well as our external resources to work together to achieve a goal. When we look at this principle and put it in to practice we become the great speaker, but we also learn about the responsibility that comes with being the bringer of the word. by getting in tune with Ujima and working with it in meditation we learn about the importance of the collective, and how by use of the proper words and motivation we can accomplish the impossible. The mistake that many make with this principle is that they  focus only on the outside world. To get the full use of the power of Ujima we first have to focus its power inward. Yes we have a

The major issue that we will focus on today with this principle is the power to define ourselves for ourselves (check out my blog and Ha2ku called "NamingYour Purpose "). This principle speaks to us about the importance of defining ourselves and the world that we are in. When  we learn to use the power of this principle in the world we take command of our reality. This makes it easier for us to live, by giving us the responsibility and ability to create the world that we want to see. This powerful principal can be used also in hard times to help us pull through. Self Determination is what it sp

America needs/ Entrepreneurs creating/ Not jobs to be worked/ We are in a Image via  Wikipedia  new time. A time where job security no longer exist. Where the best way to keep a job is to create one. This is a different view for many, but it is necessary in todays economic climate. We have to force past the old paradigm of corporation and the state being able to provide for us in old age . We are living in an unstable time. We have to be bold enough to create for ourselves. Jobs today are not perminent, they should be viewed as vehicles for the moment. That help us build toward our own businesses. Take a look at your life and see what it is you can do to provide for you and yours, and take time to develop it. Tricks-Ha2ku

Image via Wikipedia Do you know the tricks/ Every trade has tricks, learn them/ And become the best/ View this sleight of hand trick before you read the blog it will help you understand where I got my motivation for the Ha2ku and then the blog: Do you know the tricks of your trade. To become the best we have to look at those that are the most successfully in our field, and learn from them. In my short life I have noticed that those who make the most progress understand the principle of tricks. They have found or created small short cuts, that if we pay attention to, we can duplicate and improve upon their success. I need to stress that just finding tricks is not enough we need to practice our skills continuously, and begin adding the tricks that we learn to become the best. Many of us believe what we see. What I mean is that many of us see people that have mastered their skill and the tricks of their trade and think that what they are doing is easy. That is the

Sobriety

Image
Image via Wikipedia Face mortality/ It sobers you in world that/ Strives to keep you high/ What is your drug of choice? Do you prefer the synthetic highs that are produced by tobacco, alcohol, weed, cocaine, heroin, money, tv and etc.. Maybe you prefer the organic highs that are produced by arguing, drama, gossiping, fighting, depression and etc.. What ever your drug of choice is the world wants to provide it, (I stand corrected) needs to provide it. The world that I am speaking of is the man made world. How else could a small group  control the masses unless they kept us supplied with our drugs of choice. In order for a small group to rule they have to keep the larger group high off of something. We need to sober up, and take a real look at what is going on in this man made world before it self destructs. Sobriety is needed now. Sometimes it takes the addict to hit what is called "rock bottom" before s/he or they is/are forced to look their mortality in the face. W

Name your purpose

Image
Image via Wikipedia When you name something/ You own it, and can define/ Now name your purpose/ Check out this video then read Blog: When I view this video many thoughts run through my mind. I am reminded about trying to hide my tears when I saw it for the first time. When I was young this movie was all the rage, everyone I knew at the time were in and sitting down in front of the TV to view Roots . The thought that had been placed in me during that time has constantly haunted me. Why was it so important for Kunta to accept the name that was given to him. Being so young I could not understand, but as a much older man today I do. The goal on this journey is to take everything that comes our way and find the lesson. The lesson that I am able to pick out of this video at this time, is the power of naming something. Historically those that named a thing had power over that thing. When I look back in history we can see this over and over again. This is because in n

Do you- Ha2ku

Image
Cover of Malcolm X Look into your heart/ Clear your mind of programing/ Be true and DO YOU!!!/ Why live life, and not fulfill what you were born to do? all though this sounds strange we all know people who are not "doing them', but doing what everyone else thinks they should be doing. We sometimes get caught in the net of others lives, and try to fulfill our duties to the world around us neglecting to do what we were put here to do. This is a major challenge on this Journey. Think about those that walked the path of SelfMastery before you. Although I am writing about it today this process has been around for millenia. Usually those that chose this path had to plunge themselves into the unknown, and face the fact that they would loose the support of those closest to them. This is painful, but it is necessary, and in the end rewarding. Jesus walked away from his earthly family to fulfill his journey. Buddha left great wealth and power for the same reason. Booker T. Change your view

Image
Image by Mark Sardella via Flickr Blessing and road blocks/ are two faces of same coin / Simply change your view!/ Are you being confronted by a blessing or obstacle. It all depends on how you look at it. Could it be that many of us miss out on our blessing because we are looking from the wrong viewpoint? We are only seeing one side of the cosmic coin. We begin to think what we are seeing or experiencing what is real when in fact it is only half of reality. The best news in the world for those that are on this journey is that reality flows between two opposite poles. What this means is that all situations that we end up in are dual. We just have to b e wise enough to see. Our elders always said things like " every cloud has a silver lining ", and etc.. It is impossible, I repeat impossible for anything to exist in this universe that does not have some interaction with the poles. In other words every situation and thing has a positive and negative side. We just have to
