Umoja & The Patch of Unity: Why Loud Noise Starves the Tribe

Image
Umoja & The Patch of Unity: Why Loud Noise Starves the Tribe A lion standing in high grass that roars before striking gives away its position every single time. It’s an unvarnished ancestral truth: "A roaring lion kills no game." Loud threats, performative outbursts, social media flexing, and aggressive posturing produce zero sustenance for the pride. The roaring lion makes a spectacle, fills the air with theatrical bravado, but when night falls, its stomach remains empty and the cubs go unfed. Look around at our digital and physical spaces today. We are surrounded by empty roaring. We’ve been conditioned by a hyper-individualistic system to treat every disagreement like a war, every misunderstanding like a betrayal, and every friction point like a stage for public drama. We roar at our brothers, launch sub-tweets at our sisters, and bleed our axĂ© out into the ether—all while remaining trapped in reactionary states of being Mad, Sad, or Scared. This performative outrage ...

Capoeria a model for new world

Image
Image via Wikipedia Play capoeria/ And with each Roda watch life/ Change before your eyes/ Being blessed to have been involved with capoeria, I have a model of life that works for me. Capoeria is an art that teaches you how to play rather than fight. Don't get me wrong you learn to defend yourself, but the vibe is different from other martial arts. In capoeria you view conflict differently, by you making it a game you are more willing to try new things. In trying new things the art becomes you as you develop your style of play. This feeling , this idea can't help but to come into your regular life. Your life begins to become your roda (ring were we play) and you are constantly in the game. Knowing the rules of the roda or life makes the game more spectacular as you do your moves, and take advantage of what is being given to you. i had to recently look at my life and remeber my training. Some time when life seems to become overwhelming I have to take advantage of the rules ...

FUCK IT

Image
Image by Dave Makes via Flickr I am tired now/ World closes in for the kill/ Fuck it , and live dreams/ I wanted to call this post "forget it", but that did not move me like FUCK IT!!! I needed something to  get the juices flowing because this conversation requires emotional content. I have noticed that people need to get their emotions involved in order to make necessary changes in their life. Intellectually we can present idea after idea, but if we never touch the emotions all we are doing is intellectually masturbating. So I needed a term that would get you involved with this post, and "FUCK IT" works perfectly. In some of you it may cause a feeling of revulsion  and for others it may make you laugh, but if it evokes any emotional response that is what I was shooting for. Emotion is powerful tool that can help build an empire or destroy it. The important thing to remember is the emotions and thought have to align for successful...
