My New Love For Aesop (African origins)

Image
I have been recently introduced to the fables of Aesop, and I am enthralled by them . These stories are an untapped resource. The wisdom and life lessons that flow through these stories is incredible. The one issue that i have about these stories is that they are market only for kids, but I feel that these stories are even more relevant for adults. These Tales use animals, tools, and gods to teach life lessons that stick. I was doing some studying and ran across the idea of inoculation. For those that don't know,  inoculation is a process by which a disease is implanted in a person, plant or animal to stimulate disease resistance. Of course the disease that is implanted is weakened but it is strong enough to cause the recipient 's immune system to react thereby developing the antibodies to fight the disease. When reading about this process immediately I thought about Aesop's fables, and the proverbs that I have been studying throughout the years. I believe that these tales

You Are The Greatest

You are the Greatest/ You just got lost in a maze/ That you created/ The purpose of me writing for the Journey is to add value to  the life of those that read my articles. My goal is to uplift, enlighten as well as to  learn from those who are willing to share. This is a passion for me that I struggle with, but yet it has opened so many doors. I have learned so much over the years that sometimes it rushes out or through me so fast that I can't keep up. I need you to realize that you exist in a paradox. On one hand you are the greatest of creations, and on the other you are less than a speck in the total scheme of things in this universe. When we take time to look at where we are in life we can become overwhelmed. Because we have been placed in a place of utter confusion. These paradoxes we live with can sometimes exhaust those of us who were bold enough to begin walking this Journey. My passion is to help you in this walk. To help solve some of the confusion and to help you ele

Gun control or People Control

"Freedom has never been gained or lost in one sweeping  coup d'etat, but more in small stark steps that culminate in either the victory or defeat of  the people." Freedom is a heavy burden to bare, and it requires those who operate under it, to observe the world so that  they will not lose it. Freedom is a double edge sword that cuts both ways and sometimes will cut those wielding her if they are not paying attention. Look at what is going on America and understand that we are suffering from cuts from the sword of freedom. Just because you cut yourself with a tool (a sword like freedom is a tool that is used by people) does not mean you put it away. You either find a better tool for the job, or you improve your method of wielding it. Both of these option requires the user to do work either on the improvement of the tool, or to practice working with it (tool). We can not and should not give away our freedoms because we have been cut by them. We have to be willing to t

The New Warrior

I   have   been   looking   at   the   concept   of   the   warrior   for   the   last   few   days,   and   an   insight   hit   me.   All these   years   I   had   been   preparing   my   body   for   war   on   a   physical   battlefield.   Practicing  martial   arts,   running,   and   training   myself   and   others   for   the   battles  that  life would bring.   I   have   attempted   to   push   myself   to   my   physical   limits   through   fasting,   exposure   to   the   elements,   through   personal   trials   and   tribulations.   I   realized   that   all   these   things   are   important,   but   this   was   just  a  part   of   my   warrior   training.   For   years,   I   have   been   reciting   the   definition   of   a   warrior   to   myself   like   a   mantra,   "   a   warrior   is   one   who   is   experienced   and/or   involved   with   conflict,"   not   realizing   directly   that   I   was   just   defining   half   of   the   battle   t
