The Information Trap: Why Your Degree and Book Collection Aren’t Saving You

Image
Let’s stop confusing digital hoarding with wisdom. You can read every pan-African classic, quote every proverb on command, and hold three degrees stamped by an outside system that doesn’t love your spirit—and still wake up broke, fearful, and spiritually bankrupt. Modern culture wants you to believe that gathering data makes you powerful. It doesn’t. Consuming books without applying them is just intellectual obesity. The Namibian proverb cuts straight to the bone: “Learning expands great souls.” Notice what it says. It doesn’t say learning expands your ego, your resume, or your social media clout. It expands your soul . And our knowledge-holders drop the law immediately after: “There is truly no expanding without centering. A person is foolish not to contact the center.” If you try to stretch out without an anchor, you don't grow; you scatter your àṣẹ into the wind. We have been blessed with a powerful tool for improving our existence on this planet. We seem to ignore this tool as if it plays no role in our personal life, but the imagination plays a major role in making or breaking our lives. properly used it can be guided to not only relax us, but to guide what happens in our lives. The imagination can also be used to prepare us for future events. Our Creator has installed into us a portable holideck (star trek reference) and some of us refuse to use it. even with all of the research that has been done on how powerful a tool this part of us is.
I would like to give you a warning. If you are not using your imagination for your betterment it may be helping to destroy your life. If you are not using it you better believe that media is using it to make you a consumer. I once heard a quote that states " your imagination is an excellent servent, but a terrible master". How many of you live your life a victim of your imagination. It has been proven that you can imagine sickness or health into your life. Which do you pick. When properly applied your imagination can blossom into a tool of power in your life.
Remember we all live by our imaginary vision of ourselves. We construct stories about ourselves that live out in the world. Think about this, and the power that it gives you with just a few minutes of training everyday. Take time and imagine yourself a better story, and from that story watch a beautiful life unfold.
