The Art of Adaptation: Unveiling the Wisdom of The Bat and The Weasels “It is wise to turn circumstances to good account.” — Aesop In the world of fables, we often find animals acting out the deepest parts of our humanity. These creatures, symbols of instinct and survival, carry lessons older than time itself. The Bat and The Weasels , retold from the mind of Aesop and reimagined through the lens of Gye-Nyame Journey, isn’t just a tale for children—it’s a guide for those grown folks who still seek mastery. When the World Has You Cornered Here’s the setup: A bat falls to the ground and is caught by a weasel. The weasel hates birds. So the bat, slick with the tongue, says, “I’m not a bird—I’m a mouse.” The weasel lets him go. Later, the same bat falls again. This time, a different weasel catches him. But this weasel hates mice. So what does the bat say? “I’m not a mouse—I’m a bird.” And he gets set free again. Now, you could say the bat was being dishonest. But hold on. Let’s go de...

My mind is focused/
on Self determination/
Define self for self/

Principle: Kujichagulia:
Numbers: 2,8
Color: Indigo
Element: earth
Day: Tuesday
Chakra: Third eye

Kwanzaa is time for us to rededicate ourselves. To reconnecting to what is true within us, and to rebuilding our communities The second principle of Kwanzaa speaks to this on several levels. The major issue that we will focus on today with this principle is the power to define ourselves for ourselves (check out my blog and Ha2ku called "NamingYour Purpose"). This principle speaks to us about the importance of defining ourselves and the world that we are in. When  we learn to use the power of this principle in the world we take command of our reality. This makes it easier for us to live, by giving us the responsibility and ability to create the world that we want to see.

This powerful principal can be used also in hard times to help us pull through. Self Determination is what it speaks of. This principle helps us to learn to control our Will as well. when we take time and learn the mysteries of this principle we learn about the sleeping giant that is sleeping inside of us. This sleeping giants will give us the power to break through all obstacles.

Take some time today to focus on this principle and build your personal power by working with it in your mind and soul through meditation, and deep thought. Now that you know the day and the color you can focus on it at its most powerful times.
