The Art of Adaptation: Unveiling the Wisdom of The Bat and The Weasels “It is wise to turn circumstances to good account.” — Aesop In the world of fables, we often find animals acting out the deepest parts of our humanity. These creatures, symbols of instinct and survival, carry lessons older than time itself. The Bat and The Weasels , retold from the mind of Aesop and reimagined through the lens of Gye-Nyame Journey, isn’t just a tale for children—it’s a guide for those grown folks who still seek mastery. When the World Has You Cornered Here’s the setup: A bat falls to the ground and is caught by a weasel. The weasel hates birds. So the bat, slick with the tongue, says, “I’m not a bird—I’m a mouse.” The weasel lets him go. Later, the same bat falls again. This time, a different weasel catches him. But this weasel hates mice. Breeze in the morning

Breeze in the morning/
Chills, and reminds of lifes/
Everchanging hand/

It is funny how quickly things can change. Just last week I was drenched with sweat and this morning the fall breeze hit me and chills ran through my body. Life is ever changing and morphing for us, and the best we can do is enjoy the ride. Life sends out suttle and sometimes harsh omens of what is to come. Prayerfully those on the journey learn to heed these warnings and prepare.
Fall is the time of year that allows us to remember the lessons of the past and prepare for the future. Although it is not fall yet nature is giving us a warning of what is to come. Cold mornings lead to cold afternoons, and cold afternoons, lead to cold eveings which bring cold nights. Take this time to cool off from your summer cycle and reflect on the lessons that this dying year has brought. We are 8 months into this cycle. Which means this year has more time behind it than before it.
What have you learned this year, what type of year was it for you, what lessons were you supposed to get or did you even get the lesson. Pay attention to the cycles of nature because they put you in tune with the cycles of your life. For the world it is the end of the summer cycle, but for you it could be any of the other seasons, but you would only know that if you paid attention.
