We were told that survival is a solo sprint, that every warrior must grind until they break, and that another Black brother or sister’s breakthrough is a direct threat to our own plate. That toxic root sprouted weeds of blame, shame, and guilt: blaming our people for not doing enough, feeling shame for struggling, and carrying guilt for wanting real power.
