Conservatism, Reaction, and the Elder's Responsibility: A Message to My Age Grade Great Day, Fam. This one right here? It’s not for everyone. If you’re not at or approaching Eldership—defined in our tribe as about 55 years old and up—you might not feel all of this. But if you’re curious, or if you’re one of those younger souls already walking with wisdom, you’re welcome to keep reading. This message is for the Elders. For those of us who should know better. And yes—I’m including myself. Let’s Start With the Mirror I’ve got to confess something. I’ve been guilty. Guilty of being reactionary. Guilty of falling into the trap of conservatism. Guilty of romanticizing the past. Guilty of looking at our young people and calling them “soft”—as if we were born warriors, as if we didn’t have to become who we are through fire, failure, and guidance. Many of us Elders are stuck in a loop. We remember only the highlights of our youth—the toughest times we survived, the boldest moments ...

Aligning With The Solstice

Aligning With The Solstice

Introduction

The solstice is a time of great power on our planet, and we can harness that power for our own personal growth. The sun’s energy is at its strongest right now, so it’s the perfect time to use it to align ourselves with the forces of nature. By getting into tune with the rhythms of nature, we can put ourselves in position to reach and even exceed our fullest potential this season. Follow these three steps to align yourself with the solstice:

The power of the sun and of light is at its strongest right now on our planet.

The power of the sun and of light is at its strongest right now on our planet. It's a time when rejuvenation, renewal, and transformation are possible. And it's also a time when balance can be restored within ourselves if we choose to align with these universal energies.

For many people in ancient times (and even today), this time was seen as a sacred time that had great power to help move us forward spiritually in our lives and our communities. The solstices were considered sacred days because they marked the moment when the sun reached its peak during its annual journey through our skies—a moment that occurs twice per year: once at summer solstice (which takes place around June 21) and again at winter solstice (which takes place around December 21). In fact, you may have heard these holidays referred to as "fire festivals" or "fire feasts."

We have the power to align with the solstice and reach our fullest potential by getting into sync with nature.

The Solstice is a time of new beginnings, renewal, and balance. It's a celebration of the sun as it reaches its highest point in the sky before beginning to descend again. It's also a time when we can get in sync with nature by embracing all that we love about our bodies, minds and spirits. The Solstice is about strength, growth and prosperity—so much so that you might even feel like you're overflowing with power!

Section:(1)Let go of what you don’t need in your life anymore,

like old clothes or negative thoughts.

  • Let go of old clothes.

  • Let go of negative thoughts.

  • Let go of old habits.

  • Let go of old relationships, in particular those that no longer serve you or your higher self, as well as any friendships that have become toxic to you and/or others around you.

  • And finally, let go of ways of thinking and being that no longer serve your highest good and highest path forward in life; for instance: if an attitude was keeping you stuck in a dead-end job but now it's time for a change—let it go!

(2)Bring fresh things into your life that will help you grow and prosper, like plants or new friends.

  • Bring fresh things into your life that will help you grow and prosper, like plants or new friends.

It’s important to make sure that our lives are in alignment with the natural world around us. Plants are a great way to do this because they give us oxygen and food, which is something we need to survive on this planet. The same goes for other living things like animals and insects; if we didn’t have them around, the earth would be pretty boring! You can also use music or art as a way of connecting with nature too if that works better for you; remember: there aren’t any rules here so feel free to experiment!

Conclusion

By taking these simple steps, you will be able to harness the light and power of the solstice. Now it is time to shine!
