Conservatism, Reaction, and the Elder's Responsibility: A Message to My Age Grade Great Day, Fam. This one right here? It’s not for everyone. If you’re not at or approaching Eldership—defined in our tribe as about 55 years old and up—you might not feel all of this. But if you’re curious, or if you’re one of those younger souls already walking with wisdom, you’re welcome to keep reading. This message is for the Elders. For those of us who should know better. And yes—I’m including myself. Let’s Start With the Mirror I’ve got to confess something. I’ve been guilty. Guilty of being reactionary. Guilty of falling into the trap of conservatism. Guilty of romanticizing the past. Guilty of looking at our young people and calling them “soft”—as if we were born warriors, as if we didn’t have to become who we are through fire, failure, and guidance. Many of us Elders are stuck in a loop. We remember only the highlights of our youth—the toughest times we survived, the boldest moments ...

Let's Talk About What Hunger & Thirst Taught Me (2017)

Let's Talk About What Hunger & Thirst Taught Me (2017)

Great Imani:

Family we are at the end of our Kujichagulia week, and I am thrilled to be able to end this fast in success. I have taken all the lessons from the past and been able to make it through this fast without almost dieing. As you may have noticed I am now sharing videos from GNJMedia's past broadcast, and this is to give myself more time to do some of the other work required of me as a Nation Builder, moving toward the elder phase of my life. Pay attention to all the videos that will be coming to you in the future, becuase i am not only going to be sharing great information with you, but I want you to see how consistent we have been over the years. I just want to remind you that GNJMedia is not new to this, we are true to this, so get the lesson.

"Become Digitally free with everything that is provided by the Nation and with your own efforts."

I am also still working on the eMag from Umoja of this cycle so bare with me i promise that i will get it out to you. I am behind because of the fast, and the ecourses that i am working on to bring to you. as soon as I get done with them you will recieve your notice, and those that are on the emial list will recieve a discount and for those supporters you will definately recieve a step discount as well. This video that you will be seeing is from our fast in 2017.

" We live in a world that tells us that we are supposed to eat 3 times a day. That is why we fast, so we can wake up to what our bodies are telling us about hunger."

That wasn't my first fast, but it was the first time I allowed myself to really feel it. Fasting teaches you a lot about your body and mind. The hunger and thirst make you feel alive. It's like returning to that natural state where we're only living for today, not sure of tomorrow. The hunger and thirst make you feel more human – well I think so anyway! Just let me know what you think in the comments section!

"A whole lot of people who try fasting end up hating the experience but I loved it."

I'm not going to lie, it was hard at times. But then again, life is hard sometimes too right? It's how we

handle those challenges that makes us who we are as people. If you're up for a challenge or two this month, give fasting a try! It's not as difficult as you may think...

Here are some tips:

1) Start with a lower fast (24 hours) if this is your first time fasting

2) Drink lots of water throughout the day (possible side effects include headaches; try adding lemon juice or raw honey)

3) Eat light meals before beginning your fast (this will help ease any cravings during fasting)

4) Consider adding exercise into your routine if possible (this can help speed up results)

5) Don't forget to fast with intention (set a goal for yourself and stick to it)! Whether you're looking to improve your health, lose weight, or simplyconnect with God in a deeper way, fasting is an incredible tool that can help you achieve success.

Fasting offers many benefits including improved mental clarity, increased physical energy levels, improved gut health and reduced inflammation. Additionally, intermittent fasting has been shown to be an effective weight loss strategy. If done correctly, fasting can be a powerful tool for improving overall health and wellbeing.

"Try fasting for just 1 day. It may be the most productive thing you do all week."

Fasting is a beautiful tool: it's a method of purification, a time to return to the simplicity of being human, food for thought before purging your inner chaos; it's an exercise in restraint, patience and trust.
