KET.N: “Our Thang,” Our Tribe, Our Responsibility

KET.N: “Our Thang,” Our Tribe, Our Responsibility Great day, Great day, my people! It’s your brother ha2tim, and today I’m bringing you a special reflection—one that digs deep into who we are, what we build, and why we must build together. This article centers around a powerful concept: KET.N , a Kemetic term gifted to our tribe by Brother Kwame Keuchler . KET.N , simply put, means “Our Thang.” Not just something we claim—but something we commit to. Something we shape and something that shapes us. The idea came alive during a conversation about gangster movies—yeah, I love those. One phrase always stood out: “This thing of ours.” And that got me thinking... Because we need that same spirit when it comes to Gye-Nyame. When it comes to Simsa. When it comes to our culture, our children, and our future. We need our own KET.N. KET.N: It Belongs to Us. We Belong to It. KET.N isn’t just a word—it’s a sacred commitment. Our Thang represents a bond with something greater than any individua...

Hard times- Ha2ku

It is hard out here/
When states and city budgets/
Sound alot like mine!!!/
When I step back and look at the hard times of my life I am able to see what made me into the man I am today. I get a sense of appreciation for all of the battles I have been blessed to win and those I have lost. These hard times present us with touchstones that we can reflect on and grow from.
We strive to avoid these battles but in avoiding them we lose an oppoetunity to know our true Selves. Not the self that the world has taught us we are but the true Self. These hard times force us inward, and from there we are able to draw on a strength that can only be described as incredible. Many of you reading this post have experienced this in your own life.
In order to access this power we need to be pushed to what we percieve as our limits. Only by hitting the walls of limits can we enter this place to access  what is incredible in us. These hard times when viewed properly can be seen as stepping stones that help elevate us in life toward our true Selves. We will talk about the true Self as we progress on this journey, but know that what most of us consider our true self is actually a pale shadow of the real Self. Our ancestors knew that to access this Self we had to go through hard times to awaken to it.
So smile during your hard times and remember that if you open up to the challenges you will be exposed to something incredible; the real You.
