The Art of Adaptation: Unveiling the Wisdom of The Bat and The Weasels “It is wise to turn circumstances to good account.” — Aesop In the world of fables, we often find animals acting out the deepest parts of our humanity. These creatures, symbols of instinct and survival, carry lessons older than time itself. The Bat and The Weasels , retold from the mind of Aesop and reimagined through the lens of Gye-Nyame Journey, isn’t just a tale for children—it’s a guide for those grown folks who still seek mastery. When the World Has You Cornered Here’s the setup: A bat falls to the ground and is caught by a weasel. The weasel hates birds. So the bat, slick with the tongue, says, “I’m not a bird—I’m a mouse.” The weasel lets him go. Later, the same bat falls again. This time, a different weasel catches him. But this weasel hates mice. So what does the bat say? “I’m not a mouse—I’m a bird.” And he gets set free again. Now, you could say the bat was being dishonest. But hold on. Let’s go de...

What's sacred to you/
Today we trample sacred/
In name of progress/

We all need to find what is sacred to us. Society seems to have diminished the importance of the sacred. The sacred forms the foundation of our lives and needs to be embraced by us. These sacred things that we have in our life whether they are people, ideas, and/or etc.,help us maintain our personal path. Modern progress has stripped the sacred from us, and has left everything the same. When we set something up as sacred we separate it from the normal world. We appreciate the mystery of the person, object, or idea. This mystery is the source of the power of the sacred, but now we confuse ignorance with mystery. When we are ignorant of something we just don't know, and may not want to take the time to learn. When something is a mystery we know about it, but we know that there is something always deeper. So we respectfully seek out the hidden knowledge learning that we may never know it all but we are motivated to continue learning anyway.

Please notice the difference here. I want to make sure that the reader understand that when we make something sacred in our life we don't just separate it and don't touch it. We begin to study it and learn from it, through it and ultimately with it. When we make something sacred we are showing that it is of value, and by it being valuable to you, you should take the time to learn about it. Not just put it on a pedistool and let it collect dust.

Find what is sacred to you, and begin or continue your journey. learn all you can and feel free to share it with us here on the Gye-Nyame Journey.
