KET.N: “Our Thang,” Our Tribe, Our Responsibility

KET.N: “Our Thang,” Our Tribe, Our Responsibility Great day, Great day, my people! It’s your brother ha2tim, and today I’m bringing you a special reflection—one that digs deep into who we are, what we build, and why we must build together. This article centers around a powerful concept: KET.N , a Kemetic term gifted to our tribe by Brother Kwame Keuchler . KET.N , simply put, means “Our Thang.” Not just something we claim—but something we commit to. Something we shape and something that shapes us. The idea came alive during a conversation about gangster movies—yeah, I love those. One phrase always stood out: “This thing of ours.” And that got me thinking... Because we need that same spirit when it comes to Gye-Nyame. When it comes to Simsa. When it comes to our culture, our children, and our future. We need our own KET.N. KET.N: It Belongs to Us. We Belong to It. KET.N isn’t just a word—it’s a sacred commitment. Our Thang represents a bond with something greater than any individua...

Local talent share their skills/
A beautiful site/

I was invited down to Cincy to take part in the Gypsy festival. It was a beautiful event, and  I will be at the next event. For those that don't know the Gypsy lounge has a spot in cincy and columbus ohio.
They invited local talent from all over the state to share what they do. The poets, Hip-Hop artist, R&B, Jazz,Rock, and etc..
I want to first send out shouts to Gypsy lounge for putting on the event (especially Abdi and Zee). Then I need to send out some shots for Rasul the Knowbody that helped get me there.
KnowVernacular slam team put it down sharing there soul with some powerful pieces (coach Jugh Jeffner, Lotus Blossom, and Kari) giving out a mix of soul and truth. There was a Rock band that laid down some hot shit, known Grey Leaves.
Unfortunately my phone died on the way down so I didn't get no pics, but I want to send props out to ShyRony (to check out some of their music hit them up @ reverbnation.com/ShyRony) for putting on a hot set. Beautiful young ladies and I will write some more on them in the future when I do another salute to local artist.
Hey, summer is coming and it is time to turn off the radio and get out and support local artist. They can only get as good as their support. So that means they need to make money, so get  out and support what you like. Start demanding that your local radio station plays more local artist. You dont find it strange that everywhere you go the same shit is on rotation. Where is the local flavor, and why isn't it being supported by the local media. The radio stations wanted us to get up and call our politicians to block the bill that would have them paying royalties to artist, now in return you need to demand that they start showcasing some local talent. If they don't lets just cut out the middleman that is trying  to force feed us bullshit through the airwaves.
