First, before I get into my post, I want to send shots out to my youngest daughter who made it to the world on December 27 2012 at exactly 6:14... so from this day she will be Known as Ms.614.. I don't believe in coincidence so ms.614 or Sasha confirms that I am where I supposed to be and doing what I am doing. Some may wonder why I promote using the Internet to it's fullest.  I suggest that everyone gets a blog, twitter, face book, spreaker, g+ and what ever us is out there. "My reasons are personal" (in my Vito Corleone voice)... Legacy ladies and gents. Stop worrying about those who don't agree with you or that you may not

Trials of Gye (foundation myth for Gye-Nyame Tribe) part 1

Image
Trials of Gye Long ago, before time was counted and broken down into small units designed to eat up our lives, there existed a proud people that dwelled in what we call the east. They existed in peace and harmony from the beginning. These people called themselves Black, naming themselves after the color of the earth from which they came. There was never a need for all of the people to come together because there was plenty of resources for them to exist in harmony. In one of the tribes, lived a young man by the name of Gye. Gye was the eldest son of a chief named Conive and was in line to rule his tribe. Gye had a younger brother name Sen who was very jealous of Gye's position. Sen happened to be chief Conive's favorite. Together they often schemed to make Gye look bad before the people and to throw him into disfavor. Sen was in constant competition with Gye, and won most of

Two Stories about the Truth

Image
Here are two stories about Truth that struck me as powerful. The first is from a class that I took in my college days that stuck with me until today, and the second I recently ran into while going over some Zen tales. So check them out: In the beginning the first man and woman were sitting wondering and discussing Truth. They approached the Creator and asked that they be given the Truth. The Creator denied their request, saying that they were not ready for the Truth. They continued to ask over and over again when ever they got a chance. Finally after a time the Creator respecting their persistence gave in to their request. Before the truth was given to them, they were warned that the Truth is a heavy burden and that they may live to regret their request. Man and woman were excited and prepared themselves for this gift. The Creator formed the Truth into a giant mirror and placed this new burden on the shoulders of Man and Woman. At first the Truth didn't seem to heavy or much of
