As we navigate the complexities of modern existence, it's essential to return to the roots that define us, leveraging the timeless principles of Honor, Loyalty, and Sacrifice to forge a path forward. This exploration isn't just about understanding a concept; it's about redefining our collective destiny through the lens of integrity and truth. As a community committed to empowerment and personal growth, we dive deep into the essence of Honor—dissecting its impact on our lives and our interactions with each other. This isn't just an article; it's a manifesto for those ready to embody the true meaning of Honor in their lives, propelling our tribe towards unprecedented heights of unity and strength. The Core of Honor: H

Kuumba & Purpose

Image
Kuumba & Purpose Great Kuumba: Being on Nia requires us to be able to adjust our plans, and a lot of times this may happen in the midst of action. This means that of course we have to have a close relationship with Kuumba. Kuumba is directly linked to our intuition which allows us to plug into the ancestral realm, and pull on wisdom much older than we are. Kuumba will begin to flow in us as we establish our Imani in ourselves, and begin to trust our skills. This happens because in the pursuit of our Nia we begin to practice, and from the practice we develop the confidence in our skills, and this allows us to fall in the “Zone”. This is also described in the  literature as the flow state. When We are able to reach this state in the pursuit of our purpose we can begin to release our creativity. The act of creation feeds on confidence, and the flow state happens because we have done the work necessary to move on to a kind of auto pilot, and since we don’t have to focus on what we ar

Breaking The Cycle

Image
Breaking the Cycle  Great Nia Great day FAM, we have made it to the day of Nia in the week of Nia, and now we have to look at Nia through the eyes of Nia. Wow, I didn’t think about this until I sat down on my keyboard and started pounding out this blog. The Purpose of purpose. Why do we do what we do? Are you living a life on purpose or are you living on accident. Do you Know why you are doing and pursuing what you are doing and pursuing? Sounds like stupid questions, but many people when asked can not answer these questions outside of using the term “I have too”. Many of us are trapped in a cycle of accidents, and don’t know how to get out! So here is where we continue the process. Looking at the ways in which we can break the cycles that we are presently in. If you have started building on the ideas that we have been sharing for the last few weeks, you will eventually begin to see changes within yourself, and eventually you begin to affect the environment that you are in. Remember

The Family Pyramid

Image
The Family Pyramid Great Ujamaa: Continuing in the line of the discussion that we have had all week, I want to remind those that have been reading up to this point about the “The Family Pyramid”. You are sitting at the pinnacle or sat at the top of this pyramid at least until you had your own children. Now I want to explore what makes up this pyramid. This pyramid is made up of your living family, and your Ancestors. Your whole life is built upon those who came before you. Now I want to ask a simple question, what does that mean? Don’t just move by this question! I want you to really break down what this means for you, that the building blocks for all parts of your being are built upon those who came before you. In a sense others have sacrificed so that you can be on top, and you are now (metaphorically) standing upon them. Do you have a responsibility toward them? Is your life adequately reflecting the fact of your position on the pyramid, or are you just breathing air and hoping fo

Purpose & Ujima

Image
Purpose & Ujima Great Ujima: First I want to apologize for the total mess up with the “Daily Toast”. I already shared that the sound was messed up for this week, but I found out that I posted it at 6:45am rather than 5:45am. Now I have to go back and listen to my commercial to check what time I stated was show time. I go through phases where I totally forget show times, and a bunch of other stuff, just ride the wave for this week and we will be back to normal next week. It’s crazy to think that I had a big accident during the week of purpose, but all things work together to bring balance. Enough of that!  Let's get to our discussion. Well we have made it to the magnificent principle of Ujima, and we are in the week of Nia, so let’s pull these super beings together and see what they can do. “Ujima is a principle most people don’t know about because it’s a collective action that involves building community, but not in the way you think. Find out about it here!” We know that Uji

You Better Define Your Purpose & Yo Name Great Kujichagulia:   In this week of purpose we are going to focus on you finding you. I mean the real “You” and what you were born to do. At least strive to get you to begin to ask the question of why you choose to manifest in this day and time. The key word that I am using is choose. I need you to assume that your being here today is not an accident. Nia is the principle that speaks of purpose. So let's assume that there is a higher purpose to your existence. If we are a generational people and we return, then there is a specific reason that we came back to this world. When we identify this reason we now have our why, and this is empowering. If we eliminate the idea of being a victim of chemistry between our parents, and apply the idea that we came here by choice it enables us to look at other possibilities in life. This thought alone can help us move through hard times because it means that we are divine and many of the trials are

Unified Purpose

Image
Unified Purpose Great Umoja: Oh my goodness! We have made it into the week of Nia, and now she has to be our focus this week. I love the principle of Nia, because Nia gives or should give us our “WHY”. Hopefully you have found your Nia, and are moving in it. If not, hopefully we can help you with that during this week. We can at least put it on your mind so that you can start attracting her to you. Family, I need to stress the importance of asking questions during this week. When we ask questions, and we are genuinely looking for answers the Universe responds. We might not like the answer we get, or may not even understand it at that time, but It answers us. So, if you have not identified your Nia, this is the week to practice a lot of humbleness and ask questions. “Our Nia is the reason why we wake up in the morning, and doing our Nia is what allows us to live out of wholeness. That's why doing your Nia is so important in life.” We are on Umoja today and I want to focus on the c

Ujamaa Of Rites Of Passage 2

Image
Great Nia I am trying to adjust to my new schedule, and on some parts of it I am victorious but on other parts….. My goal was to switch the time of my show, and do it in the evening so that I could have more time in the morning, but now I am tired and dragging throughout the day. I also wanted to spend time doing Folktales & Proverbs on the Wisdom platform, but that is not working. I also am trying to get familiar with some new software that will help with my blog, it works well but I lost a whole article and had to rebuild it. Thank goodness I backup all my stuff on Gdoc. By the way the tobacco beast has taken a bite and is holding on, so that is also complicating the whole thing. So that is enough of my woes, now it is time to take another dive into the culture. I hope that you are getting some value and inspiration from these discussions. Remember we are not just talking about these things to just talk, we are having these discussions to make changes first with ourselves, and

Collective Nia

Image
Great Nia: Today we will be talking about the combination of Ujima and Nia. We are going to come at this from the angle of "Collective Nia '' and Our responsibility toward it. Once again I want to take the time to thank those that are supporting our efforts. We are here trying to build up "Collective Nia'' within our tribe and it is not an easy thing. We all have our lives that require many of us to deal with a myriad of things that constantly steal our focus. Sometimes it can seem as if we are in a land of the walking dead, because some people just don't get it. Believe me I understand so we try to bring you information on a daily basis so that you know that you are not alone. Be on the lookout for announcements about our events, and trips. If you ever want to come out you are welcomed. By the way I know that I have a few writers out there that have some things to say, feel free to email me and I will gladly publish it in our eMag. I also don't want
