Role models-Ha2ku by ha2tim

Image
Image via Wikipedia Role models have gone/ Now it is my time to shine/ I will surpass them/ We are going to look at step two of the success process that came from the quote that was used last week from Napoleon, "He who fears being conquered is sure of defeat". After discussing this with my young men the next step came out of our discussion. That step was: 2. having a role model When we find a role model, we give our self something to focus on. Not the person or thing, but going beyond them. You give yourself a target that is directly connected to your success. By setting yourself up a role model you have something to aim at and reach for. Many people set goals but have no models to follow and improve on, so they just are constantly reinventing the wheel, and making useless mistakes. This can be a good thing, but why go through the frustrations when others have blazed the trail. You can take the time and refine what your role models have completed and shorten your t

3 steps-Ha2ku by ha2tim..continued conversation from yesterday

Image
Image via Wikipedia My thoughts are focused/ My model has blazed a trail/ And my vision lives/ Ha2ku by ha2tim As I promised yesterday I would continue our discussion. Now lets briefly get into these steps for success that can be used; 1. control of thought: This is the first principle of Maat, but it is also major key in developing the life that we want. Our mind's are our most potent tool, and if we don't learn how to guide it we become slaves. When we allow our mind to produce random thoughts, we weaken ourselves. Our reality is built up on our thoughts. In Gye-Nyame Tribe we learn "that everyone is given a mind and it is all powerful, it (the mind) has the power to create or destroy". What are you creating in this moment, or our you destroying something? The mind and the thoughts it produce create the lives we live. If you want to change your life change your thoughts first. Now I want you to think back to the quote that I mentioned yesterday by Napoleon

Knowing-Ha2ku by ha2tim (inspired by conversation with youth)

Image
Image via Wikipedia The Age we are in/ Is not driven by belief/ But based on KNOWING/ Ha2ku by ha2tim I was inspired to write this piece from a few conversation that I had with some young men in my life. As usual I sent out my daily quote, and in doing my SelfMastery work was forced to deal with some tough questions. For some reason people got stuck on the quote that I sent out on this day. It was a statement that Napoleon had made about fear. It seemed that the young men especially could not work this one out,but that gave me the opportunity to ask them and myself questions about the underlying meaning of the quote: "He who fears being conquered is sure to face failure" This lead into several enlightening conversations that I could not wait to get out and blog about. They also inspired me to write several Ha2ku's. Out of the conversation for basic steps came out for livng in "knowing" (I will discuss later). I started thinking about times that we are
