The talk started out as a 5 minute checkin but was transformed into a 2 hour tour de force of ideas. The central theme was success within an organization and in life. The one point that kept coming out was being able to become and develope true believers. Wiithout belief all things fall apart. When we look at all succesful organizations and people we see at the core a belief that holds the people and the individual on course. Belief is the one thing that seperate the great and the not so great. Those who as individual or as an organization that are succesful are those who practice a belief in themselves and/or a goal. This belief sustains them in the hungry seasons of life, and gives

Time moves so quick it seems that it was just time for me to leave for Simba, and now it is over. This was a stellar year for the Columbus Chapter (Gye-Nyame Tribe). We had an opportunity to expose 21 young men to a camp that transforms lives, and that is exactly what happened. Simba is unlike any other program/camp that I have ever been apart of, the focus is providing young men with a safe place to transform and see the possibilities of greatness that lie in their soul. While the camp focuses on the young people it remains a transformational experience for everyone involved, from the kitchen staff to the people that care for the camp. The power of Simba pulls people together and forces them to look inward, release pain, and begin to grow. This year was full of spontanaity and emergence. To write about this things is one thing but to watch in action is another. This year due to my age and length of time in Simba I was able to sit back and watch the power of the Nation blossom. If yo

I know that this sounds strange but the idea came to me as I was doing research and found a Greek philosopher by the name of Archimedes. Archimedes was quoted to have said "give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world". In this modern time a lever and a fulcrum big enough to move the world has been presented to us all. The lever I'm speaking of is the internet. This lever if it is used properly can help you move your business, your personal life, and anything else you want to move. Through the social network aspect we can set up support networks for just about anything that we want, and leverage the information and inspiration that they provide. We can seek out information that just 10 years ago would have belong to a rare few, and use it on a daily basis to bring success, peace, and happiness into our lives if we choose to. I am  a Hip-Hop Philosopha and Spiritualist this means that I have a unique way of seeing the world, and the way it runs. I have the pleasure of being part of a culture that does not mind borrowing. In Hip-Hop we have always borrowed the best and created something greater. You can see it in the fashion world, in art, dance, and music just to name a few areas of life where this culture as been a big influence. Growing up in this culture and developing the mindstate that goes with it, has opened many doors for me, and has created what you are reading today. In philosophy, and spirituality I have only done what my culture has guided me to do. Just like the DJ who would mix the old with the older and create something new, I did the same. This video focused on the movie "The Secret" as well as self help gurus like Tony Robbins, and Eckart Tolle. The study states that positive thinking basically does not work, and is a form of avoiding the truth. This can be very harmful according to the study especially to people with terminal illnesses. Now I am a big supporter of science, but I will share my concerns. The issue is not that positive thinking does not work. The problem is that the scientist only studied positive thinking which is only a part of the process. Why spoil your children/ Then send them to public school/ Expecting some growth/ This Ha2ku is not just about spoiled kids, and then again it is. If we want to set standards for ourselves and others that is cool, but when we expect and even in some cases demand that others abide by these standards, we are not being realistic. I think that every parent, every lover, and every friend should spoil those closest to them, but to do this and not prepare them for the cold world is setting the spoiled up for a terrible crash. When the spoiled are flung into an environment that is not designed to cater to them they may not be able to handle the situation, which can lead to failure. This thought hit me as I was dealing with some young people that could not adjust to the school environment. When we spoil individuals then we need to willing to provide and give them what they need.
