Walking the Barbell: Tradition on One Side, Revolution on the Other

Image
Walking the Barbell: Tradition on One Side, Revolution on the Other I’ve been re-listening to Antifragile by Nassim Taleb—and something caught my spirit this time around: the Barbell Strategy . Taleb breaks it down as a life design where you operate on two extremes . On one side, you’ve got extreme safety . On the other, calculated risk . And in between? Nothing. That middle space is where comfort hides and where fragility is born. This idea got me thinking deeply about how well it aligns with the life we’re building through Gye-Nyame Journey —and how it could shape a political campaign if I—or one of y’all—ever decided to run for office. The Safe Side: Cultural Roots, Community Wisdom Let’s start with the grounded side of the barbell —the side that holds our traditions, values, and cultural wisdom. This is where we store our principles: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Nia . It’s the bedrock. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what keeps us whole. This side includes our: Rites of passage Community cir...

Peace Fam: Today me and the girls just had fun, but we were able to discuss the concept of faith in the process that you are practicing. Faith, and trust are important in the process of Selfmastery. Two of the Ten virtues of Maat stress these concepts: "Having faith in our masters ability to teach us (or reveal) the truth." "Having faith in our ability to assimilate the truth" Being able to invest our trust in the process that we are following is paramount, and we have to begin to practice this principle, so that we can move to the next level of our development. Take some time and evaluate some of the processes that you working in your life, and the ones that are worthy to continue, because you have seen the fruit in your life, as well as in other live's, and begin to invest trust in them. View video and feel free to leave comments. me and my daughters wish you Peace, Power, Joy, and 1hunidyears. Brother ha2tim

Tha Conscious Rasta Drops Jewels Of Wisdom

Image
Peace FAM: Brother Keidi Obi Awadu came to this year's Malcolm X Festival and dropped some information that had me spell bound. Brother broke down where we were and pointed out some major opportunities that is available to those of us in Columbus, Ohio. Powerful words that anyone that takes the time to listen in can grow from. If you are conscious or moving toward it then listen and download this podcast so that you can review. It is incredible to me that the vibe that I am in at this point of my life is ringing loud enough for everyone to lick up. Brother Keidi echoed the fact that I have been stressing, we are in a cultural crisis. We need to practice sankofa and go back and fetch what was stripped from us and remix it so that we can move forward in this world. If we don't begin competing and prepare our children we will miss the platinum opportunities that are laying before. Come on family this is a time for heroes, and the battle lines are being drawn. We have a chanc...

The Gina Gee Project "Cream Of Wheat"

Image
The Gina Gee project is a show that my daughter created. She saw me making video, and been watching YouTube and decided to do her own thing. For the last year she and her sister Ms. Shasha have been recording video using up all of my storage space, and figured that it was time to support her. Her first video is about making Cream of wheat. She in a dramatic fashion microwave her breakfast and teaches the viewer. I believe that when our children show interest and dedication to something we should support them. This might be a phase, but I am trying to use it as what our ancestors call a "lure to Mastery". I believe that our children need to be taught skills and in this video project she will learn, acting, interviewing, editing, and story structure and story telling. All these are transferable skills that can be used in pursuit of her life's purpose. Of course she will get a write-up from me on our site,  at least until she ( hopefully) starts writing her own accompa...

The Biggest Story

Image
Being a lover of folktales I   feel it is my responsibility to share a good one when I find one. Folktales, myths, legends, and stories are important to all culture because it is the main way that the culture is taught and passed from generation to generation. Folktales connect us to our ancestors and to learning like nothing else. Our brains are wired for stories, and it is a tradition that need to be brought back. Although story telling is a billion dollar industry, we have allowed this talent go dormant in our community, unless we are talking about unhealthy activities. So my friend here is a story that I was reintroduced to, and I thought I would share it. I am asking you for your help. I need for you to view the short video and help me decide which story is the biggest. I give directions in the video, please take the time to vote, and I will share the final results on the "Daily Toast", sometime next week. Remember be bold and take the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge , an...

Daily Toast- Ujamaa 518171 "The wasted resource of Black Manhood & Black Womanhood

Image
Peace FAM: Wasted resources are killing our community. Especially resources that we have control over. I am going to hit on some sensitive ideas in this article and the video so I need to warn you advance. I woke up and started thinking about the role of gender in a culture, and asked why were they important. Gender roles were established to help bring order in the culture. Each individual was assigned roles at birth, as well as from the community. These roles helped to advance the society. The interaction between the genders produced the life that enabled the culture to exist as well as the community that adhered to the role. Now in these days and times these roles have been allowed to slip into each other forming whole other groups of individuals. Now where you stand on this is your business, and is not part of my discussion, but it is something that I felt that I need to cover. We as Africans in America, also known as Black folks are in no position to be arguing about these gend...

I'm Moving!!!! Be sure to come visit

Image
That's right I'm packing up some of my content and moving over to the BlaqSpot . Finally I have a spot made for us by us, and I am going to take full advantage. I'm planning to run adds, and introduce new products over there as well. Of course I will keep my territory out here, but I will be doing some real Culture Building on safe ground. Hopefully many of you will come and visit so that you can get some exclusive stuff. I wonder how many people over there will be willing to take the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge . I thought about building a network but the amount of work and skill it would take to get something like that working and keep it working was beyond me. So I salute the brothers and sisters that spearheaded this project. Now here is where I'm going to loose many of you, BlaqSpot  is not free. Now listen before you take your eyes off  the page, If we want to build we have to pay. Freedom has never been free, nor can it be handed to you. Freedom has to be bought...

Daily Toast- Ujima 517171 "The Paradox of the collective"

Image
"There is no healthy person without a healthy collective, and there is no healthy collective without healthy persons." Great Ujima FAM: I hope yesterday was productive for you, right now I am sitting in Ujamaa reflecting back. Their are many things that i wished that I would have covered but I think the basic idea rings through. Family we have to begin to rebuild and embrace our culture. I state rebuild because we can't just grab some ancient information put it together and strap faith on it and feel we will be able to compete. A culture prepares an individual to compete and succeed. Right now I believe that we are following a cultural program that leads us to failure. This cultural paradigm that we follow miss informs us about the past, muddy up the present, and leaves us hoping for a great future. All of these elements are within our power to change, as well as rebuilding our culture. I created this video to discuss this issue, I hope you will check it out and let ...

Rediscovery of The Melaninated Circle By Mz. Traci (Pictures are taken from the internet and are not personal property of Mz. Traci) To buy and barter within your circle is to build your circle. This strengthens your circle. You begin to create an unbreakable circle that will allow you and those within your circle to not seek help or guidance outside your circle, that may cause destruction of the circle. The Melaninated Circle is a community of brown to black pigment skinned cultured people. Originating from the melanin definition meaning a dark brown to black pigment occurring in the hair, skin, and iris of the eye in people. Creating a circle of people in a given culture that will build a unity of people. This is necessary to get the black community back to the basics of depending on ourselves and not others. This is needed to uplift and build us stronger as a people. Many of our ancestors were forced to America. Once they were here they were brutally mistreated...
