We had a great discussion with this family, it warmed my heart to be able to listen to the young people respond to the questions and ideas that were sent their way. I left this interview energized and hopeful for the future.

The Power Of Tart Cherry- Nia Daily Toast 62171

Peace FAM:
Once again their is a powerful natural helper out there that we have been walking by everyday. I remember climbing and eating those tart cherries right from the branches. He would have thought that those nasty cherries that use to give me the runs would end up being something that could help my community. So let's find some tart cherry trees and have our kids climb them and bring down the fruit so that we can eat together.

Daily Toast- Imani 521171

Peace Fam:
Today me and the girls just had fun, but we were able to discuss the concept of faith in the process that you are practicing. Faith, and trust are important in the process of Selfmastery. Two of the Ten virtues of Maat stress these concepts:
"Having faith in our masters ability to teach us (or reveal) the truth."
"Having faith in our ability to assimilate the truth"
Being able to invest our trust in the process that we are following is paramount, and we have to begin to practice this principle, so that we can move to the next level of our development. Take some time and evaluate some of the processes that you working in your life, and the ones that are worthy to continue, because you have seen the fruit in your life, as well as in other live's, and begin to invest trust in them. View video and feel free to leave comments. me and my daughters wish you Peace, Power, Joy, and 1hunidyears.

Daily Toast- Nia 55171 "The Tao Of Ignorance"

Peace FAM:
Great Nia, and welcome to GNJ. I was excited about this video, it came together in a dream. I began to question the idea of ignorance, and the role it plays in the life of my people. After reflecting I began to notice the role it plays in my own personal development. I have been held back because of my ignorance, or my ability to ignore. As a people we have been well trained in the art of ignoring. Ignorance when I think about it is an art, and has been perfected by certain segments of our family. Checkout the video, join the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge, and be on the lookout for GNJ's 21 week warrior training click the link to stay in the loop.

Daily Toast- Ujamaa 54171 "Unproductive Behaviors"

Peace FAM:
SelfMastery is about constantly looking at ourselves, and evaluating what we need , and what we need to change. This is a constant struggle, and it can be painful, but as our ancestor Amos Wilson taught us "It is a child that fears pain". So today I decided to look at the idea of unproductive behaviors. Do you have any?

Daily Toast- Nia 428171 "African Red Palm Oil"

Peace FAM:
I must apologize for the late post. Yesterday I fell ill suddenly why I was completing my video and in the process of uploading. The pressure behind my left ear was horrible, and I took the rest of the day to rest. Now i know those that have been watching and reading are like "Brother, how can you fall sick with all of "That Ambrosia" and with you taking those supplements?" The answer is complicated, and I am still looking into it, but I have narrowed it down to some possibilities that I feel that it is important to share with those that will be taking the 21 Day Nguzo Saba challenge. On Ujamaa evening at about 5pm I indulged on a mud pie, and a strawberry pie, that was presented to the staff as a gift. I had two healthy pieces, and at the time it was good. Now for those that are doing the challenge beware of over doing your meals if you are attempting the "Warrior Diet", I figured since I had kept my diet, then the pies would not hurt me. I was wrong, the sugar intake was to much, and the sugar may have contributed to the ear issue that I was already experiencing. I also have to take in account that my body is still cleaning itself out and this can cause you to fall sick as well. Plus this Ujamaa I was hit by about 4 major issues at the same time and I ended the day finding out that I was being sued. So it could be stress, sugar, the addition of oils into my diet, ice cold showers and baths that jump start my immune system, new breath exercises, and/or daily exercises. All of these things are either helping to clean me out and causing some reactions, and those that are out there and attempting to make changes in your life, please do not give up. You will get sick, life will hit you with some BS, and even people close to you will begin to question your ideas and motives. Just take these things and continue. They are signs that you are on the right path, and that things are changing for you. There is a saying "when in hell just keep moving", and I encourage you to keep moving. keep doing your personal work, and watch your life begin to bloom. Remember that before the seed sprouts, and breaks through the ground it has to transform, and travel through the underworld, and the same goes for you.

Daily Toast- Kujichagulia 425171 "Drama cont."

Peace FAM:
Once again I am able to stand above the ground  and greet you on this marvelous Kujichagulia. Today we toast our ancestors and continue our talk about drama. Drama in it's self is not a problem, but over dramatazation is the issue. We can not allow anyone to hijack our attention or power, and over drama does that perfectly. It is the tool of the enemy, so watch out. Keep your mind and staymoving toward your goal.
We also will begin looking at some herbs and different food you may interested to adding to your personal regiment. Right now, I am working with black seed oil, palm oil, and coconut oil, and of course "That Ambrosia", I will begin talking about these products more and let you know about my personal results. Checkout the video and sign up to get extra content @ Gye-Nyame Journey and don't forget to take the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge.

Daily Toast- Kuumba 422171

Peace FAM:
It is a brew day, and I am far behind. I was supposed to bottle up the ambrosia last night, but I was tired and went to bed. Now I am moving slow, and trying to do the best I kind with this shifting weather. my SCOBYs are holding up but being horribly slowed down by the huge jumps in temperature. I got them bottled up, and know to post up the video and get it to you. I am slowly moving toward the point of making my first shipments outside of Columbus, and I am excited.
Today we toasted this marvelous day of Kuumba, and I was able to talk a little bit more about the process of making the kombucha/jun. We also talked about the danger of misdiagnosing our emotional states. When we misdiagnose we get the wrong solution, which means we apply force in the wrong direction. This causes us to fall deeper into the whole of oppression, and moves us into a depressed state. These types of states drain our power, and moves us toward surrendering. It is important that we create situations where our tribe and family members can experience their natural state of power, peace, and joy. When we do this we make it easier for people to realize that they need to deal with their emotions appropriately so that they can return to that state. I for one would love to stay in Peace, Power, and Joy, and get outside of this negative programing that does nothing but keep me in a state of stress, that eventually will kill me. Checkout the video, and take some time out of your schedule to check us out at our Gumroad store and get some free extra content. Don't forget to take the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge, let us work together to get the changes you want in your life. Remember that it is free unless you want to pay something. For those that want to go deeper be on the lookout for the 21 week Gye-Nyame Journey Warrior Training. After you complete that you will be a certified member of the tribe as well as be able to help other people through the process in the future. We are trying to change the state of Black folks all over the globe especially those of us behind the lines in the wilds of North America. Join GNJ and let's leave a legacy for our children that they can touch.

Daily Toast - Nia 421171 "The fox that thought he was a Lion"

Peace FAM:

"Greatness is forged in the heart, the heat is provided by the trials and tibulations of your life. It is shaped by the 5 tools of our being, cooled by our mastery of the 6 emotions, and formed into shape by our adherence to the 7 Principles."
quote from a future book by ha2tim
We are up and toasting those ancestors, I want to send shots out to all those that join me for the feed at 4:15 am est on Facebook. I am trying to let yall know that I am not playing with this. Slowly but surely we will change ourselves and by doing that we will will impact the world.
Today I bottled some Ambrosia for one of the daily viewers of the Toast on FB. Those who have already placed their orders for this batch, know that you have not been forgotten. I have some of my best SCOBYs working on it as we speak. I will be bottling tonight and they will be ready by Sunday evening, depending on the weather, and how well they are breathing in the second brewing.
Now today I cover to stories in talking about the Principle of the day. One I constructed from all my experience with Aesop fables, and the second story comes from an actual event in Ghana. I hope that you get the message that was meant for you, and I also hope that you like, subscribe and more importantly share. Also remember to register for the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge. One of the benefits is that everyone that is on the challenge gets better access to "That Ambrosia" when they give to the Journey. remember we practice reciprocity around here, when you give to GNJ, GNJ gives back to you. Checkout the video and let me know what you think.

Daily Toast- Umoja 417171 Sex

Peace FAM:
We will look at sex today, and discuss how it can become a point of contention, as well as a powerful tool to move you toward your goal. When seeking SelfMastery, as well as Nationbuilding all aspects of our lives need to help us move toward our goals. Especially those that are necessities, like eating, and sex. It is incredible to me that people will move toward change and leave the same old attitudes about sex in place. Sex is one of the most powerful things that we do in our life time. We literally create life during this act, but we neglect it when it comes to changing our lives. You can create the best life in the bedroom, as well as erect your own private hell. We have to be wise enough to use all of the tools we have been given on our journey to greatness. To overlook the major necessities of life is like trying to build a house with no hammer.

Daily Toast- Imani 416171 Self Deception continued

Peace FAM:
We will continue to talk about self deception today, and how our misdirected Imani can hinder our growth. I didn't get to talk about the placebo and nocebo effect, but these play a major part when we start discussing Imani and SelfMastery. Knowing about these can help you break through some of the illusion that have been erected to prevent you becoming the best you. Those of you in GNJ and those of you taking the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge need to look both of those terms up, and begin to apply them to life.

Daliy Toast- Kujichagulia 411171 "The game is not fair because we are not playing"

Peace FAM
In my book "The Player's Pyramid" I describe life as a game, and state that those that know the rules win the game. Today I want to go a little deeper, FAM  the game appears to be unfair to us because we are not playing. It appears that we are not even attempting to compete. By us surrendering to our competition we are throwing the whole universe out of balance. We are required to put up the best fight we possible can, and trust our ancestors. We have to begin to compete, and begin to make other groups feel uncomfortable around us. The game we are born into requires us to act as a group, and get rid of this universal man concept, we have a role and when we don't play that role we expose our future generations to servitude. Now I want to clarify the role, as Black people in America we are a group that has economic, business, political, social, educational, and warfare responsibilities. We have to begin to train ourselves and our children to compete. Many groups in America already do this, all you to do is look at the little townships, and suburbs on the fringes of our cities. As Marcus Garvey says "what man has done man can do". Now many people will read this and automatically think that I am discussing separation, but this is happening in the front of our eyes and no one ever screams separatism. We have the right in this system to set up something for ourselves, as a matter of fact we will become more valuable to this country. As we start building, providing jobs, training our young people, taking care of our elders, educating our children, producing goods, and providing services our net worth will begin to grow, and we will be able to formulate beneficial partnerships with other groups. This is not about isolation, but this is about taking some time pulling ourselves together, and demanding that other groups respect us. This is Kujichagulia on steroids, we define our borders, we define our relationship with other groups and deal from a position of power.

Daily Toast- Umoja 410171 (confusing being scared with being mad is stopping Unity in our communiity)

Peace, Power, and Joy FAM
Umoja has swooped in upon me like a hawk, and snatched me up before I was ready. Now I am playing catch up, but I am grateful for another opportunity to greet you on this Great day. It is incredible what new information can do for you. It is like having a blind spot your whole life and someone comes around with a cure, and all of the sudden you can see of the world. I feel that another blind spot has been cleared up for me after  this weekends WHB workshop. I received information this weekend that has changed my view of the world, and if I put it to work it will change the world I'm in.
Confusion is a powerful force, that cause us to mislabel and misplace things. In our confusion about our emotions we have mislabeled scared, and misplaced it in the wrong emotions group. This has caused so much confusion for me. For years I thought I was angry, and I get never understand fully why. I struggled with this anger, I fought with this anger, and  I spoke about this anger. Never realizing that in my confusion I mislabeled fear (scared) as anger. My whole life I have been socialized to maginalize fear (scared), even take it out of my personal language, not realizing that I was crippling my self as a whole human being. Getting rid of part of my guidance system that would help me get back to who I really am, or better yet what I truly am Powerful, Peaceful, and Joyous. The natural state for all of us.
Now be sure to checkout the video and join the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge. We have to start getting back in touch with ourselves.

Daily Toast- Kuumba 48171 "Who does your Kuumba serve"

Peace FAM:
Every now and again your are forced to face some difficult facts, and have to ask yourself some difficult questions. The answers that ring back can sometimes make you sick, but that feeling if faced and embraced can bring about healing. I was hit by one of those questions this morning when I was creating this video. I had to ask who does my/our creativity serve, and the answer that reverberated into my soul was not comforting.  Our creativity has been hijacked and has been put to work to help build and maintain nations for others, and in turn destroying us. We have to do some deep soul searching to figure out how to get control of our Kuumba so that we can put it to work for us. Part of the reason I developed the Challenge was to help people snatch control of the power that lies in them, and the power to create is something we need to definitely grasp. Our creativity is the source of our wealth, and we will never be able to get to where we need to be without it. At this point in our history it is being used full force against us. We see it being used to destroy our minds and to keep us stuck in position. Kuumba is the heart beat of culture, from her flows the innovation that move a culture and its people forward. In order to build as a collective or as an individual Kuumba must be controlled and harnessed to move forward. Let's take it back, and Let's Build!!!

Daily Toast- Kujichagulia 321171 (Who is defining you/we)

Peace FAM
The thought that hit me when I rose from my sleep this day, was who defines us, and how do we benefit from it? When looking at how we deal with each other and the world I can't help but be puzzled, because it appears that we operate outside of our own interest. Any people that operate outside of their own benefit is crazy, because their is no way that they can survive. This type of people put their children at risk, and set them up for future oppression, and debt slavery. A people's Kujichagulia is a protection against outside forces, when the force of Kujichagulia is stripped away a people are subject to outside definition.
Now here is where the hustle gets real, if an outside force or group (group 1) can define another group (group 2), the definition that is set on group 2 will always work for the benefit of group 1. This means that everything that group 2 knows about itself or even think about it self will benefit group 1. The only end that I can see for group 2 is extinction. Now FAM we have to realize that we are in group 2, and begin the real work of change.
Checkout the video and let me know what you think.

This Diet Could Save Your Life "African Heritage Diet"

Peace Fam:
GNJ is all about helping you change your mental diet. I'm always trying to provide thought provoking ideas that are designed to help you start seeing the world in a new way. I figured I would leave the physical diet to the experts, but then I ran into this article about the African Heritage Diet and I had to share this information. Now there are plenty of healthy diets out there, but this one rang a bell for me because they are taking the cultural route. The fact is that human beings developed over thousands of years eating certain foods, and each group have cultural foods that they lean on, except African people in America. Our diet was forced upon us with no concern about the effects on the 5 parts of our being. Now I believe it is time for us to start snatching back this important part of our legacy. I especially like when they stress eating in groups, as a matter of fact they described the dinner table as "the healing table" Goto the site for yourself and get the information and Let's Build!!!

Daily Toast- Kuumba 311171 (Release the magician)

Peace Fam
Man we are coming off a great Nia, and moving into this Kuumba. I feel like a magician, I don't know why, but I have been humming this capoeira song "Assaulta Manginga" which means release the magician. Maybe it is because I just reached 100 subscribers on YouTube, maybe because I am finally getting comments on my blog, or maybe because I just had my afternoon meal. Whatever it is I am going to ride the feeling until I can't anymore.
Now it is time for you to release the magician in your life.  Magician before they were connected to parlor tricks and morphed into politicians, were at one time very skilled workmen. They mastered there craft to a point to where it appeared they could perform miracles. They didn't have one trade they were the masters of their age. They got so good at what they did that people called them magi, which means wise. Magi is also the root word of magician, this word through time became associated with terms like super natural, to make you think that these skills were out of reach. A magician is simply a master of his/her craft. They simply cultivated the ability to create, by getting the 5 parts of their being to work together. You can do the same, and by doing so you will be able to release a flow of creativity in your life that will change it forever. Checkout the video, toast your ancestors, and let me what you think.  For those that want to checkout the Kindle edition of my book "Freedom Within Limits".

Daily Toast- Nia 310171 (Play & practice your position)

Peace Fam
Today's toast is a celebration of the follower, those unnamed heroes who have made civilization possible. Those people who may have known more and spoke better than the person they were following but kept their mouth shut, and played their part. Many of you may cringe when you read these words, but you have to face the fact that everyone is not a leader, in fact most people are not. I know you will probably fall into the "we are all leaders in our own life" argument but I could argue you there as well. History or at least the way we want to see it does not hoist the follower into the spot light. They teach us to focus on the leader, rather than looking at individuals that gave him the very thing that he needed, people to lead. It is these people who bring the know how to make the vision of the leader possible. It is these individuals that help and remind the leader to stay in line. It is these individuals that raise the money, and balance the books. It is these individuals that keep the meeting halls open and clean. Hell, if the followers ain't on point then the leadership will be wack. It is the unsung, that form the notes that the leader sings.
I am saying all this to encourage you to face the reality that you may not be the next Malcolm X, but may just be a "Malcolm in the middle", but by you learning to practice and play in your position, you make an invaluable contribution to the forward movement of your group, and more importantly your life. By you focusing and applying "right practice" where you are, you grow. Better yet you can create an environment where everyone around you can grow. So please play your role, the future of your tribe, and family may depend on it.
