Daily Toast- Kujichagulia 328171 ( redefine the story)

Peace FAM Here we go, another great day and a new filming technique that I have been working on. Hope you like the effect. Now to redefining the our story. On this day of Kujichagulia we are given the gift of re- framing our experience in this country. We can stick with the old story, but we have to ask the question, has it helped us. If the story is not helping us in our goals of rising in this country then we need to step back and re-frame them. I have been struggling with this for a long time, because our story maybe limiting us. Along with the studies on PTSD, and PTSS we also need to identify and look at those studies of individual and groups who have developed PTG (Post traumatic growth). There are studies on individuals who have been through traumatic incidents and have grown dramatically because of the incident. They have learned to draw strength from their trauma that has catapulted them into a new frame. They appear to prosper inspite of what they have been through, and I

Image

We also send shots out to another Elder who we on our way to surprise for his birthday. You get to join us for that as well. Daily Toast- Kuumba 318171 (Creativity resurrects)

Image
Peace FAM: Welcome home, you have been gone a while and I want to personally welcome back to GNJ. You have been lying prostrate but I am glad you have risen. I know it took a while for you to realize that it was all about you making a simple choice. All you had to do was stand up. You laid prostrate and the legs of your Kuumba were waiting for you to embrace your Nia, and push yourself. You did and now you are here. Kuumba is powerful, and if you allow this principle to activate in your life it will change it forever. It is through this principle that resurrection takes. This is the transformative principle that our people have had an extensive relationship. I am just trying to rekindle it, so that we can start using her power to create new life rather than recycling death. So listen in pay attention and hit me up and let me know what you think. I hope you are ready for the #nguzosabachallenge, If so hit me up. Let's Build!!! nuff said Peace & 1hunidyears

Daily Toast- Umoja 313171 (take time to review)

Image
Peace FAM: Great Umoja, and welcome to the start of new cycle. Take time in this cycle and review all of the principles and how you have practiced each one. Now is the time of manifesting all of the work from the previous cycle. We also talk about being careful about what we allow into our minds, and how by not monitoring our thoughts we allow things into our mind that manifest in our lives to hold us back. Checkout the video and let me know what you think. Peace &1hunidyears

Daily Toast- Kuumba 311171 (Release the magician)

Image
Peace Fam Man we are coming off a great Nia, and moving into this Kuumba. I feel like a magician, I don't know why, but I have been humming this capoeira song "Assaulta Manginga" which means release the magician. Maybe it is because I just reached 100 subscribers on YouTube, maybe because I am finally getting comments on my blog, or maybe because I just had my afternoon meal. Whatever it is I am going to ride the feeling until I can't anymore. Now it is time for you to release the magician in your life.  Magician before they were connected to parlor tricks and morphed into politicians, were at one time very skilled workmen. They mastered there craft to a point to where it appeared they could perform miracles. They didn't have one trade they were the masters of their age. They got so good at what they did that people called them magi, which means wise. Magi is also the root word of magician, this word through time became associated with terms like super natural

Daily Toast- Nia 310171 (Play & practice your position)

Image
Peace Fam Today's toast is a celebration of the follower, those unnamed heroes who have made civilization possible. Those people who may have known more and spoke better than the person they were following but kept their mouth shut, and played their part. Many of you may cringe when you read these words, but you have to face the fact that everyone is not a leader, in fact most people are not. I know you will probably fall into the "we are all leaders in our own life" argument but I could argue you there as well. History or at least the way we want to see it does not hoist the follower into the spot light. They teach us to focus on the leader, rather than looking at individuals that gave him the very thing that he needed, people to lead. It is these people who bring the know how to make the vision of the leader possible. It is these individuals that help and remind the leader to stay in line. It is these individuals that raise the money, and balance the books. It is the

Peace Fam: Today we start out with the proverb that will take the lead this week "Right practice is true knowing". This proverb is definitely needed in these days and times of the slick talker. We have plenty of speakers and no leaders. Checkout the video let me know what you think and be sure to join the show tonight @ 9pm streaming live on my FB page. Hopefully in the next week we will be able to stream live through the site again.

Daily Toast- Kujichagulia 36171 (5 parts of Being)

Image
Peace Fam: It was an exciting week, and I have been getting hits about "That Ambrosia" and question in general. Today let's look at the 5 aspect of our being (Intuition, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, and Physical). Staying aligned with the Proverb of the week "Say the knowledge-holders, true home is the place which the sun breaks", for many people this is cryptic, but for the few who have been studying this proverb is clear. To me it speaks about the unseen part of reality which makes up at least 90% of existence. That is right, a majority of the universe can not be perceived by us. Our ancestors through altered states of consciousness were able to become aware of this bigger reality, and was able to incorporate this knowledge into their daily lives. We lost our way and need to focus in on some basics so that we can get back in touch. With today being Kujichagulia and the Hermetic law being correspondence we can look at breaking through some of the mysteries

Daily Toast- Kujichagulia 128171 (who is defining you & your reality)

Image
Great Kujichagulia: On this day we reflect not only on Kujichagulia, but upon the other principles, and laws that fall on this day.Today is not only the day of self-determination, but it also serves to bring us time to work with Justice and  the Law of Correspondence. Keeping with the theme from last week we will reflect on these principles through the lens of the quote from the "Book Of Coming Forth By Day", that has sparked all kinds of thoughts. " Awaken from thy suffering O thou who lye prostrate! ", we will stop the quote there, because this part illustrates what we need. Kujichagulia is about defining our self for our self, but how is this done? Unfortunately most people have been lulled into a deep sleep, they were cultured, and socially designed into a prostrate state. We have been submitted to a systematic process that strives to keep us unconscious. In the state of unconsciousness we experience self inflicted suffering. Now I believe that this point is i

We have made it to another Umoja, and almost made it through another month. We are going strong with these toast, and by now you should be seeing the effects. Umoja is the point in our principle system where all of the principles we have been working on come together to produce results. Today take some time to notice where the principle Umoja has been working in your life. Where have things been coming together for you. Umoja is unity, but also on this day we deal with the Maatic principle of Truth, and the Hermetic Law of Mentalism. Speaking of the Law Of Mentalism, let's explore this law throught the lense of Umoja. The principle of Umoja reminds that everything is connected and and interdependent. If we take this as Truth (Maat) we can take our principles to another level.  The Law of Metalism states that "Everything is mental, and everything is a mental creation of the All", now this means that the entire Creation is formed through mental energy. Mental energy pro

I have set a difficult challenge for myself. I plan to create at least 1 video a day. I was doing great till early this morning when I fell asleep during my workout. I have it on video and it is hilarious, but it demonstrates that this shit is hard. Setting up the shot, testing new angles, creating new intros, writing for each show, remembering what I say to put in to the description, creating post for my site, podcasting twice a week, and etc.. Please take notice that this issue lines up with the principle of the day. I have to more effectively use my personal resources to make this new addition to my lifestyle work. Just as many of you who have made changes in your life have to also do. The idea about taking a challenge is that you will receive push back, you will find wholes in your game, and weaknesses will be exposed, but it is all toward your greatness. Don't be ashamed, take your feedback and use it in your continuing efforts to build. Back to the video: the two resources

Daily Toast- Nia 217171

Here is my lastest Toast, let's keep it going. Today We talk about the link that Nia has with the Maatic principle of balance, and the hermetic principle of rhythm. Join the conversation and let's build.

The Daily Toast

Image
The "Daily Toast" is a project that I started as a part of the #nguzosabachallenge. The challenge is  a simple idea that came to me during the Kwanzaa season. During Kwanzaa those of us that participate in it focus on the 7 principles for a whole week. The question that hit me is why couldn't we continue this practice throughout the year. Being a man that loves, and understand the power of symbols, I began to focus on the number 7. In -Nyame Journey the number seven is the number of study, rest, and perfection. I figured since there are 7 days in the week, why not replace the names with the principles. it seemed like a fair idea for me. The western world never had an issue with forcing their world view and symbols on us, so consider this as my symbolic push back. The name of the days never symbolically served Black folks anyway so it only made sense to me to replace the Greek, and Nordic god names with principles that would empower me and whoever else used them. Once I

First, before I get into my post, I want to send shots out to my youngest daughter who made it to the world on December 27 2012 at exactly 6:14... so from this day she will be Known as Ms.614.. I don't believe in coincidence so ms.614 or Sasha confirms that I am where I supposed to be and doing what I am doing. Some may wonder why I promote using the Internet to it's fullest.  I suggest that everyone gets a blog, twitter, face book, spreaker, g+ and what ever us is out there. "My reasons are personal" (in my Vito Corleone voice)... Legacy ladies and gents. We are living in the most dynamic time in human history, and each of us have the ability to through our voice, writing, ideas, and etc. out into the world. We have been taught to stay quiet, and not share what's on our mind, but I am saying stop hiding your light. Shine for the world, for you may project the beam that may free someone. Stop worrying about those who don't agree with you or that you may not

Why Meditate?

Image
I breath in and out/ slowly and with a rhythm/ mind begins to clear/ Meditation is a process of learning to measure our thoughts. In measuring them and observing them we learn how to quite or mind so that we can find peace. According to the lessons in Gye-Nyame when we are asked "what is peace?" The proper response is Harmony and Order. So by practicing meditation those on the Journey bring Harmony and Order into: 1. Into there inner world 2. Into their day life Being on the Journey regardless of what system you follow requires you to be able to draw on a source of power beyond your physical being, and meditation helps with this. It helps align you with the "True Self". According to the SelfMastery system that we use in Gye-Nyame the Self is defined as: " the absolute, complete, perfect qualities of being that is not influenced by external circumstances" meditation is a major way to commune with this part of our being. When we cultivate peac

New Definition of Power

Image
"On mile 3" my spreaker radio show I discussed a new definition of power but left out the connection of humbleness to true power. To be Humble = to be empty...? I have come to understand humbleness in this way from a ancient Zen story: A Zen master was being visited by someone wanting to know about Zen. Visitor began asking alot of questions. The Master served the visitor the visitor tea. As the visitor kept talking the Master kept pouring. The visitor watched the cup over flow and the tea rolled down the table into his lap. The visitor jumped and said "the cup is to full you are wasting tea everywhere!" The Master replied "like this cup you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?" Listen to show and learn  the power of emptiness/a void.  New Definition of Power

3 levels of learning

Image
Levels of learning/ There are three within our tribe/ Memory,mind,heart/ In the Gye-Nyame Tribe we focus on 3 levels of learning. The idea is that if we can explain the process of learning, at least the way we see it, this will make it easier for those involved to not only learn the information they need for our Tribe, but it will make life long learning a lot easier. These levels of learning were stumble upon by watching the growth of many organizations and individuals over 20 year period. The first level memorization is the building block for the next 2 levels. This is where we take in new information and become familiar enough with it to answer basic questions. The goal is to learn the information verbatim. We also use a scribing method to help with this part of the process. I have personally witness this simple method boost the confidence and information level of people in my Tribe, and in the many other organizations that proceeded it. After the information has been dig

Support the Journey

Image
Image via Wikipedia Support the Journey/ If you can't buy book or tip/ At least click an add/ Sitting at my youngest sun's graduation, showing my support. Thinking about kicking myself for even thinking of missing this day for work. The "bottom line" and work will always be there, but days like this for my son are not repeatable. The funny part is that I decided to steal a few minutes after getting him ready to drop a blog about support. Thanks for reading the journey and checking in everyday. Hope that it is helping you through your day. In the same way the Journey needs you. Support the work that we do by purchasing a book, leaving a tip, a comment, or just click an ad. When you do this you make it easier for members of Gye-Nyame to focus and bring you quality updates, news, stories, quotes, and proverbs. So help us by purchasing, tipping, or clicking....
