Let's talk About The Pineal Gland

Peace FAM:
let's talk about the mysterious gland, that is called "the seat of the soul", and the "The third eye". This gland has many hidden powers, but one thing is for sure, we will never access it on our present diet. There appears to be an organized effort to slow your personal development down. Tune in and let's explore the available information about the pineal gland.

Daily Toast- Kuumba 513171 Nitric Oxide & Sex

Great Kuumba FAM
Although I am in Imani now I want to make sure that my readers have access to the information that I shared on Kuumba. We talked about nitric oxide and sex. Family the power of the breath is incredible, and we need to begin harnessing it for our personal and tribal "come up". When we learn to work with and eventually control our breath we can heal ourselves, lose weight, overcome stress, increase energy, and improve our sexual performance, and all this is free. It is just a matter of sitting down and breathing through our nose. Forcing ourselves to become conscious of a process that many of us overlook. Changing our diet, and other habits pale in comparison to just changing our breathing pattern. Start breathing through your nose, take the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge and change your life.

Daily Toast- Umoja 424171 "Drama"

Peace FAM:
I hope this day finds you standing in Peace, Power, & Joy, our true natural state. Unfortunately we are bombarded with anti-virtues that strives to pull us from this natural state into a spiral that often ends in a wreck. One of these your anti-virtues that i will focus on today is "drama". Drama is an inescapable part of life, but the issue is when it is magnified, stressed upon by others, and then thrust into your existence. FAM the truth of the matter is that you do not have to buy into others over dramatization of life events. Actually it will benefit you greatly if you did not. We are surrounded by these over dramatic episodes today in ways that our ancestors never were. We are bombraded with news, timelines, comments, phone calls, tweets, photos, and etc., that strive to keep us involved and a part of needless drama. This need is driven by a lack of attention, and a lack of purpose. the drama springs up and begin to eat at the unity of the group, and eventually people walk away exhausted and frustrated. If we want to grow, we have to learn to re-frame situations and subtract the over dramatic depictions. Checkout the video and let me know what your thoughts are.
Remember to take the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge, and if you want to release the Warrior within be on the lookout for the 21 week warrior training, make sure you register with Gye-Nyame Journey to stay updated and to get exclusive content, and discounts on GNJ merchandise.

Daliy Toast- Kujichagulia 411171 "The game is not fair because we are not playing"

Peace FAM
In my book "The Player's Pyramid" I describe life as a game, and state that those that know the rules win the game. Today I want to go a little deeper, FAM  the game appears to be unfair to us because we are not playing. It appears that we are not even attempting to compete. By us surrendering to our competition we are throwing the whole universe out of balance. We are required to put up the best fight we possible can, and trust our ancestors. We have to begin to compete, and begin to make other groups feel uncomfortable around us. The game we are born into requires us to act as a group, and get rid of this universal man concept, we have a role and when we don't play that role we expose our future generations to servitude. Now I want to clarify the role, as Black people in America we are a group that has economic, business, political, social, educational, and warfare responsibilities. We have to begin to train ourselves and our children to compete. Many groups in America already do this, all you to do is look at the little townships, and suburbs on the fringes of our cities. As Marcus Garvey says "what man has done man can do". Now many people will read this and automatically think that I am discussing separation, but this is happening in the front of our eyes and no one ever screams separatism. We have the right in this system to set up something for ourselves, as a matter of fact we will become more valuable to this country. As we start building, providing jobs, training our young people, taking care of our elders, educating our children, producing goods, and providing services our net worth will begin to grow, and we will be able to formulate beneficial partnerships with other groups. This is not about isolation, but this is about taking some time pulling ourselves together, and demanding that other groups respect us. This is Kujichagulia on steroids, we define our borders, we define our relationship with other groups and deal from a position of power.

Daily Toast- Umoja 410171 (confusing being scared with being mad is stopping Unity in our communiity)

Peace, Power, and Joy FAM
Umoja has swooped in upon me like a hawk, and snatched me up before I was ready. Now I am playing catch up, but I am grateful for another opportunity to greet you on this Great day. It is incredible what new information can do for you. It is like having a blind spot your whole life and someone comes around with a cure, and all of the sudden you can see of the world. I feel that another blind spot has been cleared up for me after  this weekends WHB workshop. I received information this weekend that has changed my view of the world, and if I put it to work it will change the world I'm in.
Confusion is a powerful force, that cause us to mislabel and misplace things. In our confusion about our emotions we have mislabeled scared, and misplaced it in the wrong emotions group. This has caused so much confusion for me. For years I thought I was angry, and I get never understand fully why. I struggled with this anger, I fought with this anger, and  I spoke about this anger. Never realizing that in my confusion I mislabeled fear (scared) as anger. My whole life I have been socialized to maginalize fear (scared), even take it out of my personal language, not realizing that I was crippling my self as a whole human being. Getting rid of part of my guidance system that would help me get back to who I really am, or better yet what I truly am Powerful, Peaceful, and Joyous. The natural state for all of us.
Now be sure to checkout the video and join the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge. We have to start getting back in touch with ourselves.

Daily Toast- Ujamaa 46171 (Misplaced Emotinal Energy)

Peace FAM:
Pardon the lateness, but the files with the effects are bigger than I imagined and this one took 2 hours to upload, so that throws off my time table and I have to wait for a break to post. Break time and today is moving in slow motion for me. I am struggling on the warrior diet, because my body is telling me that it wants to eat, but it is more of a want than a need. Yesterday I ate my meal, and could not finish it. This was shocking because I thought I was hungry then as well. Taming the body is a Herculean task but I am up for it. I know you are reading this wondering what does the warrior diet have to do with today's topic. I am discovering that I am eating to feel emotional lacks in my life. Eating gives me a sense of comfort. Like many of you who will take the Challenge, you will begin to discover new things about yourself, and you will begin to recognize where you are wasting alot of energy. Our emotions are the driving force in our lives, and if we don't learn how to harness them they will tear us apart. Now I need to make myself clear, I am not talking about shutting them down, and pretending we don't have them. I am talking about learning to use them, I dare to say even aim them. Yes your emotions can be aimed and utilized to push you toward your goals. Our ancestors did it, and our enemies are presently using it against us. When you don't have emotional control over yourself you leave a untapped energy source that others will strive to use. Groups have emotional energy as well and can be guided and manipulated to benefit others. This is what is happening to us as individuals and as groups. we invest energy into all sorts of endeavors that do not benefit us. I am simply suggesting that those that are reading this and in Gye-Nyame Journey should be learning ways to harness the emotional energy of ourselves, our tribe, our community, and others to move us to our greatness.

Daily Toast- Kujichagulia 44171 (Steaming food)

Peace Fam

Today was one of those days when I woke up with no idea of what to talk about. I struggle, and then the idea hit me to introduce the world to one of my favorite things, especially with the way I eat, my steamer, so during the conversation I discuss steaming and how to use it to assist on the warrior diet. So here is to a great Kujichagulia, and by the way I owe 14 push ups so as soon as finish this post I will knock them out.

Daily Toast- Umoja 43171

Peace FAM
We have made it into another week, and I have lost count, but I thank you for reading these post, and following me on my personal challenge, and journey. Hopefully you have found some inspiration, and we have brought some value to your life. Unity is a powerful principle that when applied can conquer any obstacle that is placed before you as an individual. Unity is a principle that has to be exercise individually before it can be effective as a group. Unity empowers us to work as a whole unity, pulling on all the resources of our whole being (IMESP). I have to stress this because many of us look for collective groups, families or tribes, but have not truly unified within. When this happen the group dissolves because all of the members are looking for a wholeness from the group, that can only start from within. Now is the time to begin working on yourself, learning to harness the Umoja force. When you begin doing this you will start attracting other whole people, and from there you will begin to build the healthy collective that will only add to you rather than drain you.

Daily Toast- Imani 42171

Peace FAM
Here is another edition of the Daily Toast, This episode I am joined by my lively Daughters Shasha & GiGi. I Try to go a little deeper with the Nguzo Saba Challenge and the order of events for those that will participate. I am going to develop a checklist of things to do and you can decide for yourself how far down the rabbit whole you want to go. The deeper you go the more powerful the effect will be for you. In short each day will begin with you waking and focusing on the principle of the day, making sure that you state it aloud, and focus on what type of day it will be for you. Remember we are seeking to take control of the energy of the day and guide the symbols associated with that day in our favor. Then we will move tour our daily toast, this is an internal libations that we pour to align our body with our purpose. We start this part by drinking some water. The drinking of water is the most important part of this ritual. Water is the key to health and if we are not taking hydrating ourselves serious all the other parts of the challenge will fall apart. You should drink water before you take anything else into your body. Water is filled with axe' (life force), and it helps awaken your body, by removing toxins from the previous day. I suggest drinking at least 16 ounces, but do what you can. I personally prefer distilled water, and the first drink should be just pure water. After this step is complete we move into our toast (libations), for this portion you can use water, or a health drink. I personally use "That Ambrosia" a kombucha I make. If you don't have access to "That Ambrosia" you can use Lemon and water, lime and water, apple cider, and water, or an herbal tea. It is best that all this drinks be unsweetened, especially if you are on the warrior diet.
In the Toast we salute our Creator, our personal ancestors, the present moment, and our future generations. This part of our ritual once again gets us to focus on the important things in our lives. After the toast move into a routine that helps get focused on the coming day. I clean up the kitchen, but you can build your own. The routine can be composed of anything that will help you focus your energy for the day. After the routine is complete we move into our meditation and workout. I personally move into the axe' breath, and a exercise regiment. After this i move into my cold shower which definitely will help you get focused, helps get the blood flowing, helps your body eliminate toxins, and jump starts your internal system by encouraging it to begin burning fat.
Yesterday we spoke about utilizing the Warrior Diet during this process so I won't go into a conversation about that.
FAM this is the basic run down of the process, nothing is in stone. I expect you to use your Kuumba to structure it to fit you. Checkout the video enjoy my kids and have a great day.

Daily Toast- Nia 331171 (Puts some Nia on it)

Peace FAM
Woke up this morning, and did not want to leave the house, but I knew I still had to do my toast. I decided to do a promo for the 21 day Nguzo Saba Challenge. After going back and checking out gumroad my excitement grew because with this product I could finally take control of my digital content.
On this Nia you can decide to exist on purpose. Nia is a spice that you can put on your life, to bring the flavor back. Take some time and challenge yourself to move to the next level. If you need help we are here to assist you. The Nguzo Saba Challenge is designed to help you apply Nia and the rest of the principles to your life, and in doing that change every aspect of it. You will be surprised how by applying this simple system you can change your reality. I have been working through the steps myself, and will be here to help you when you get stuck. The challenge is about taking back the symbols that shape our lives, establishing routines, and rituals on purpose, and aligning the 5 parts of our being. You will receive information from GNJ as well as supplemental information that  my team has been gathering for years. Now you have the choice to pick and chose what you use, but you get from the process what you put in. You will receive emails on a regular basis throughout the 21 days that you can use. You will get free pdf's of Tribal Quotes, The Players Pyramid, and the 21 Day Nguzo Saba Challenge Journal. You will receive access to our Folktale spreadsheet that connects each story to a principle and the instructions on how to use it. You will receive a video that walks you through the Axe' breath and the Gye-Nyame Salutation exercise. You will also get instructions on the Warrior Diet, and some information on the African Heritage Diet. We will also have live hangouts, as well as make someone available for you if you have any questions. You will also get access to our Nguzo Saba Challenge Community on Face book so that you can share your insights, struggles, and victories.
I know some of you are wondering why would I give all this away for free. Years of research, writing, and struggling made available for nothing. The fact of the matter is that it does cost, you have to work, and trust the process. Once the process has worked it's magic on you and your life you will come back and contribute to our Tribe. So FAM it is not free, it is a strategic move, better yet confidence in what we have to offer you, and confidence in you. We at GNJ realize that all relationship are built on give and take. We are making the first move in establishing a relationship, now it is your turn.

Daily Toast- Ujamaa (Story as a resource)

Peace FAM
Had a powerful interview on "Tribal Quotes", usually I don't have interviews on my two major shows, but this was a special occasion. This brother is a story teller and understands the power of the narrative and expressed it very well. His name was brother Wekesa Madzimoyo and he is a founder of the AYA Educational Institute, and he will be in Columbus, Ohio on April 7- April 8 with some powerful workshops. It would be wise for you to be in the house.
I chose to do the interview on the Tribal Quote because his message lined up with today's principle Ujamaa. He discussed the power of stories to heal and to move our people to another level. He shared that we are in the position we are in because we are not telling our tales properly. We are neglecting one of the most powerful resources that we have. The story resource is so powerful because it can inspire others to move in the way that our culture and people need. He discussed teaching people how to construct stories so that our message is carried through them, rather than the usual message of our enemies. Even defeats can be framed in away that can inspire our people, as a matter of fact in the hands of a skilled master a defeat, can catapult a culture to legendary status, if you don't believe me "remember the Alamo" or  how about the "300" Spartans that were slaughtered by the Persians. Both of those examples inspired and continue to inspire millions.
Family the bottom line is that if you want to change your life, change the story about it. Take time to re-frame your tale and the tale of your people and Let's Build!!! I will see you at the workshop and at the next show.

Daily Toast- Ujima 329171 (Bull without a Herd)

Great Day Fam
Last night I went to sleep wondering what I would talk about in the morning. When I woke up the folktale that I am focusing on this week popped up. The questions that hit me was where was this bull's herd. I know that cows and bulls are social animals, and exist in groups, so where was this bulls group? This bull was isolated and vunerable to the world and the lion. The only thing that kept him from being a victim was his size and strength. The lion was able to get the bull to accompany him because he was alone with friends and family being able to give advice. This situation sounds like the situation that many Black people are in. Where is your group, tribe, and family to advise you away from those lions waiting to take advantage of you. Watch the video and let me know what you think.

#nguzosabachallenge (How to and why)

Here is the first step on how to participate in the Nguzo Saba Challenge. I am sharing so that those that are in my circle can begin the process of taking their power back. We need to begin taking control of the symbols in our lives, and start connecting them back to our culture. This is just a step that I decided to take.

Daily Toast- Kujichagulia 328171 ( redefine the story)

Peace FAM
Here we go, another great day and a new filming technique that I have been working on. Hope you like the effect. Now to redefining the our story. On this day of Kujichagulia we are given the gift of re- framing our experience in this country. We can stick with the old story, but we have to ask the question, has it helped us. If the story is not helping us in our goals of rising in this country then we need to step back and re-frame them. I have been struggling with this for a long time, because our story maybe limiting us. Along with the studies on PTSD, and PTSS we also need to identify and look at those studies of individual and groups who have developed PTG (Post traumatic growth). There are studies on individuals who have been through traumatic incidents and have grown dramatically because of the incident. They have learned to draw strength from their trauma that has catapulted them into a new frame. They appear to prosper inspite of what they have been through, and I believe we can do the same. We need to look deeply into our story and use the power of mental alchemy to transform them into what we need rather than weights that hold us in place. We are in a unique place and time in history simply because you are here. You and your story are what we have been waiting for. We need to look at the hero mythos and realize that every hero went through trauma that turned him/her into the historic person or legend that we know. We are unique because we have a whole group that has been traumatized, and continue to experience trauma, and I am simply suggesting that we begin to re-frame it in away that is empowering to us as a group and even more importantly as individuals. This constant waiting, begging, borrowing, and needless suffering needs to stop.
Checkout the video and let me know what you think.

"It Is Time For You To Leave"

Before you read please check out the video so that you will not get lost, some of my readers are to young to remember the show Kung Fu, and will not understand my references.

What I loved about Kung fu was that it introduced me to different way of thinking. The scene that I am discussing today is the test that was set up in this fictional shaolin temple that determined when it was time for a student to leave. The test was basically the head monk (Master Khan) standing before the student every so often, and challenging the student to snatch the pebble from his hand. When the student missed he went back to his daily practice in the temple as a student. When he was finally able to snatch the pebble he and the master knew that it was time for him to leave. In other words it was made clear to the student and the teacher that student had no more to learn in the temple and it was time for him to continue his studies in the world.
If only real life was this simple, and clear cut. Today people need to learn when to move on, but the problem is that in modern society the master and the student become attached. The student is to scared to snatch the pebble or even try, and the master is to connected to his ego to even let the student attempt. Modern life has ruined the master student relationship.
The student after years of preparation fears the next step because it is a mystery. They doubt their abilities  and cling to their master as if their life depends on it. They do not want to face the world as the hero Kwa Chain Caine in Kung fu the series did. The unknown and instability that is in the world  scares them deeper into their temples, and they refuse to leave not knowing that they are robbing the world of the gifts they have been blessed enough to receive.
The master holds on to the students in order to boost their ego, and to fill the void of emptiness that occurs naturally when we release someone or something we care about, also unaware of the damage that they inflict on the world or themselves. By not releasing the student on their Journey the master robs themselves of the opportunity to instill their teachings on someone new. This only occurs when the master is able to face the void of emptiness and trust that the universe will fill it.
Although all this talk about masters and students may throw you off, please understand these are dilemmas that happen everyday in this society. Although the titles have changed the idea remains the same. We all need to learn when it is time for us to leave a person, relationship, partnership, business, job, and etc.. We need to be willing to take the test of snatching the pebble from the hand of our teachers, and go out into the world and share our gifts. Yes it is frightening, and it is supposed to be. The  mystery we feel are further lessons that will move us to Mastery. As teachers we also need to know when to test our students and if need be force them into the world so that they can test their skills. We must be able to face the void that is left welcome it and wait for our next journey with a new student to begin.
So going back to the clip "when you are able to snatch the pebble from my hand it will be time for you to leave" years of study and achievement happens, and you stand before your boss, partner, emotions, and you snatch the pebble. Don't fear be confident in what you have learned and Know that " it is your time to leave!!"

Why Meditate?

I breath in and out/
slowly and with a rhythm/
mind begins to clear/

Meditation is a process of learning to measure our thoughts. In measuring them and observing them we learn how to quite or mind so that we can find peace. According to the lessons in Gye-Nyame when we are asked "what is peace?" The proper response is Harmony and Order. So by practicing meditation those on the Journey bring Harmony and Order into:
1. Into there inner world
2. Into their day life
Being on the Journey regardless of what system you follow requires you to be able to draw on a source of power beyond your physical being, and meditation helps with this. It helps align you with the "True Self". According to the SelfMastery system that we use in Gye-Nyame the Self is defined as: " the absolute, complete, perfect qualities of being that is not influenced by external circumstances" meditation is a major way to commune with this part of our being. When we cultivate peace within ourselves this opens the door for communication the deepest part of our being.
Now meditation does not have to take place just sitting still. Any activatie can be turned into a meditative situation. A prime example I have found in my life of this is the practice of martial arts (capoeira or akido), running, writing (for me poetry, haiku, as well as blogging). These activities are all practices in which I have to settle down and get in contact with that deepest part of my being and get it done.
Now take a moment in your life and identify the practices in your life that you have that can be transformed into meditative moments.
I don't want to take away from sitting meditation because that is important as well. Todays world robs us of time and I have found other ways to increase my contact with my True Self, and I woukd suggest the same for you. Meditation is good for your total health and is a simple tool that can be used on your Journey to assist you in getting the fullness out of this life experience. Meditation helps you become more conscious of the world you live as well as the world that lives in you. So use it, and if you need help checkout my "Sacred Space" meditation on my spreaker radio show and the meditations that will follow. If you want to support the Gye-Nyame Journey you can purchse my "Meditation by the #'s " MP3 availible on or purchase the "Player's Pyramid" which have a meditation described in its pages.
*I need to mention that you can receive the "Player's Pyramid" free as a PDF if you sign up and make a comment on the blog.

Thank you

Thank you very much/
For within your behaviors/
Lies a lesson for me/
I have not posted in a while. I don't know if it is because of frustration or just plain laziness. Today the inspiration hit me and I didn't have time to write at work but I felt it was important enough to pen my thoughts on this situation.
Modern tech has made it so easy to share and I have been investing a lot of time on my spreaker station, but this Ha2ku needed to be discussed through the pen or should I say the key board.
While working with young people today I ran into a young man whose behaviors were irrateing me to no end. He couldn't or wouldn't (I don't know which) stop moving or talking with me. He was a case study for persistence. He had it set in his mind that he was going to get what he wanted and started asking me for it over and over and over and over..... hopefully you get the idea.
I noticed my breathing began to shift and became shallow I noticed my body began to heat up, and the words that flowed out of my mouth for him even though he didn't understand what I said was:
"Something in your behaviors is meant to teach me a lesson"
Although I knew he couldn't understand I did. The message was not for him it was for me and the other adults in the room. This young man at this time was my teacher and he was teaching me about patience, and compassion. What became even more apparent was that this teacher was sent to me at the exactly right time. Because he was forcing me to not only deal with him but all the other people in my life at this time who were pulling on my nerves.
In order to get through the day with him in the room I had to change my perception of the events that were unfolding. The same goes for my life. Instead of taking what he was doing personally I had to realize that he was not rebeling against me but all those in authority. When I stopped taking it personally I could deal with him better and was able to calm him down. Now to apply this lesson to my life and to the adults who were doing the same thing. Now, right nowe in my life I have the power to change my perception and not the people around me. Right now I am able practice patience and compassion and make my world a better place.
