Elder seeks answers- story adapted by ha2tim

Image by Getty Images via @daylife I read the original story some years ago and decided to adapt it for the Journey. if anyone out there  know the original story and who wrote it hit me up so that I can give credit. here we go.... Elder focus mind/ your problems begin to fade/ contact source of all/ After years of meditation, contemplation, and analyzing the elder was on the verge of giving up his quest. She was trying to find the key to re-building a healthy community . As a last ditch effort the Elder decided to turn the matter over to her higher power. the Elder prayed night and day focusing on this one problem, and seeking the answer. She was determined to find the answer because she had watched the community that she belong to descend into a hell like state. Coming from a once proud tribe and community she noticed that the youth no longer respected the elders, and the elders seemed to not care for or about the youth. Materialism was the name of the game and it had consumed

In this book the world famous revolutionary Che' who came to fame as a major player in the  Cuban revolution , described the concept of true guerrilla warfare. He states that the guerrilla fighter is a "social reformer, that takes up arms responding to the angry protest of the people against their oppressors, and that he fights in order to change the social system that keeps all his unarmed brothers in ignominy, and misery. He launches himself against the conditions of the reining institutions at a particular moment and dedicates himself with all the vigor that circumstances permit, to braking the mold of these institutions." Fear is back

click to get help over the hump Fear is a weapon/ Used to confuse ignorant!!/ Are you ignorant?/ Ha2ku by ha2tim Guess who has reared its ugly head again. Our old friend Fear, yep one of the deadly seven. Actually Fear is the seven (fear, envy, pride, greed ,sloth, lust and anger). fear manifest itself through each one of these seven. it comes into our lives and freezes us in place. keeps us stuck in things we know we need to move beyond. The good news is that fear is a signal that change is coming. we just have gird our loins and push through. When we stand before fear we are presented with a gift that we have to take a risk to get. look fear in the face that it presents you and chase it away. because it is a coward, it, will not stand before moves made boldly. it will nag you from behind the battlefeild, and your task is too keep moving leaving it so far behind you that you cant even hear its echoe. move boldly on your journey. New Age guerilla tribute to Jimon Jones Part I

Image
Image via Wikipedia Guerrilla in midst/ Using Hip-Hop as weapon/ Waking consciousness/ I woke up today with several things on my mind but one of my ancestors was calling out to me. I have for years been involved in my community as a NationBuilder, and one of the task that I took upon myself was raising boys into men. For years my house was full of young men and their friends. This brought me great joy and great pain. I have lost count of how many young warriors have passed through my house (known by many as the Gye- Nyame house). I have been blessed with the fact that many of these young people developed a love for me and affectionately called me dad or big bra. Back to the reason I'm writing this piece I woke up with one of the Young men who was in the Gye-Nyame house on my mind heavy. His name was Jimon Jones. He lived next door from me and eventually ended up staying at Gye-Nyame house. Unfortunately he was murdered in the short north. When he died I wrote an article abo

He was cordial. He said he had followed me in the press; I said I had been told of him, and we talked for fifteen or twenty minutes. We both had to leave to make appointments we had, when he dropped on me something whose logic never would get out of my head. shouts out to the Midwest Spider

Image
power is making/ your dreams breath and walk for real/ through life obstacles/ This a new part of the Journey I will begin sending shouts out to local artist, and entrepreneurs that are on the Journey. It is important that we support these folks, because they are out there grinding trying to get there name out there. So feel free to hit me up with suggestions for yourself as well of friends that out there "doin it". You have to have respect for those people that are out there making their dreams real. whether they are grinding out of their trunk, or selling their products at beauty salons or barber shops. When we support them we are really supporting ourselves. Each time we purchase a book, cd, ticket, or piece of heart we promote the culture of entrepreneurship. We keep the flame burning in them as well as ourselves.  although i hve put some artist on the Journey i have never really introduced them to you so I have one of my favorite Hip-Hop artist send me his Bio and a

the Baba - Chapter 5 part II

Image
Image via Wikipedia Click cover Chapter 5 (cont.) All my free time is spent studying with my generation (those that came in the same time as I did). We have to be able to answer all the basic questions. They start by asking us about the symbols of the club. From there we have to get into what is a nation, and eventually get to our family line. My family line  was simple. Simba was brought in by Ha2tim who is one of the founders. I am the only person Simba had brought in so far. Other family lines were fifteen people long. I had been going through the underworld for months and I had not seen Simba. Even when I am on work detail. I was sent a to work at the different establishments that the club owned. Many of these places you would never know the club had anything to do with. The longer I am in the more amazed I am at the depth of the influence of the club in this city. It is amazing what they are doing. The membership is full of people you would never expect from politician

Gears of change-Ha2ku

Image
Image via Wikipedia What's your gears of change/ Have you built a system yet/ To guide you to goal/ Gears are perfect model for us to look at when it comes to setting up systems in our lives. Gears are seperate parts of a machine that work together to get work done. Have you identified the gears of your life? If not, you should. Take time to identify those driving forces in your life so that you can evaluate if they are helping you reach your purpose. This is a good step for those on this journey, because the worst thing that can happen is that you begin your journey only to find that you are going the wrong way. Believe it or not this is a common event. S/heroes set off on their quest only to find out they are going the wrong way, or doing an unnecessary task because a personal inventory, a checking of the gears was not performed. Our personal gears may require for us to do some repairs before we begin our journey. Maybe we may need to replace or repair some. Have you been t

FUCK IT

Image
Image by Dave Makes via Flickr I am tired now/ World closes in for the kill/ Fuck it , and live dreams/ I wanted to call this post "forget it", but that did not move me like FUCK IT!!! I needed something to  get the juices flowing because this conversation requires emotional content. I have noticed that people need to get their emotions involved in order to make necessary changes in their life. Intellectually we can present idea after idea, but if we never touch the emotions all we are doing is intellectually masturbating. So I needed a term that would get you involved with this post, and "FUCK IT" works perfectly. In some of you it may cause a feeling of revulsion  and for others it may make you laugh, but if it evokes any emotional response that is what I was shooting for. Emotion is powerful tool that can help build an empire or destroy it. The important thing to remember is the emotions and thought have to align for successful continuous action to take pl

Intention

Image
Image by M.C. Martin via Flickr What do you intend/ intention is your weapon/ Use to cut threw life/   For those on the journey the challenge is to learn to find your lessons not out of the mouth of wo/men, but to find them in the world and your experiences. Your story is the text book of your life and the lessons you can gain from studying yourself are vast. Dont ever under estimate the wealth of wisdom sitting unattended in your personal journey. We are all being prepared for greatness in some way, but sometimes we miss the lesson because we get caught up in life. Now that I have that out the way let me tell you a short story to help make my point and to cover the lesson in my Ha2ku. When I was younger (alot younger) I use to play football (which is full of life lessons). I was alright, and was told by many coaches that I had potential for greatness in the game. I recently ran into an old coach of mine that gave me a lesson that I had to share. This coach remembered m

False hustle-Ha2ku

Image
Image by animm via Flickr Hustle means to move/ To move faster and better/ Than competition / Are you a hustler or are you being hustled ? Living life so busy that you have no time. Moving from pillar to post, but in all your motion going no where. We are surrounded by so called hustlers, people who are in motion building monuments to nothingness. Not realizing  the true definition of hustler. To be a hustler  we have to not only be in motion, but we have to be moving toward a goal.  Hustlers have to be moving better and faster than our competition. As we travel on this Journey we have take time to lay out our goals. We have to figure out who is our competition, and we have to continually move toward improving what we do. One of the major things we have to be willing to do is find ourselves a model to learn from. Being a hustler is a learned skill and is better  for us when we can follow the paths that has been blazed. We have to always be open to new information that helps u

We all know a journey is no fun if just one person that talks. So feel free to add comments, make suggestions, ask questions. I promise you, I will respond. I want go into the scientific , or anthropological definitions to prove my point, because if I have to do that then this is not the article for you. I just had to finally share what Hip Hop means to me and what it has done in my life. Coaching-Ha2ku by ha2tim

Image via Wikipedia If life is a game/ who is the coach that helps you/ win your victory/ Find yourself a coach. Find someone that can help you push past some of those personal issues that are blocking you from reaching your goals. Through out time we have had coaches, they have been called different things in different times but the purpose have remained the same. They help others move toward excellence and victory. Although we have isolated coaches to just helping us with sports, the concept can be applied to other parts of our life. In ancient times these individuals would have been called masters, and/or teachers. They would take disciples, or apprentices and help guide them toward mastery in the trade of choice or life. We have left this system behind, and choose to go through life with out help or guidance. Unless it comes to a sport or getting in shape physically. We have in most case left the emotional, spiritual, and mental parts of our lives off limits to outsiders. W

Fear vs. Vision-Ha2ku by ha2ti

Image
Image by v:MarinO:a *SiiNeSteSiiA* via Flickr Vision inspires/ Fear paralyzes people/ Follow your vision/ The world needs more inspiration and less fear. Right now it seems that fear comes at us from all angles. Fear is the major element that is being broadcast through the media . The problem with fear is that it does not motivate in most cases, it paralyzes. When something is paralyzed it can not take the best action to solve a problem. In fact being paralyzed increases the problem, and puts the person, or society, that is experiencing the fear in more danger. When we are paralyzed we can not move, or think our way out of an issue. We are stuck in time, frozen in place. When we look at what is going on today we can see that fear is the true " weapon of mass destruction ". Whole countries are frozen with fear today because of factors that seem out of their control. this is not only happening on the larger level of life, but it may be happening in some of live's ofth
